Directed by "Zombieland" and "Gangster Squad" helmer Ruben Fleischer, the Spider-Man spinoff "Venom" stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist who accidentally becomes the host of an alien symbiote that gives him a violent super alter-ego: Venom. The film also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott and Michelle Lee.

"Venom" opened in theaters on October 5, 2018 and received mostly negative reviews from critics. While Hardy's performance was praised and considered a highlight, the film's script and scattershot tone were harshly criticized. The film is poised to be a hit at the box-office, with pundits estimating a $60 million debut from 4,250 theaters.

The first trailer James Franco's new film "Child of God" has been released. The film, written and directed by Franco, is an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name. The story takes place in Tennessee in the 1960s and follows a dispossessed, violent man (Scott Haze) who's life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order which leads him deeper into isolation, crime and degradation. The film also stars James Franco, Tim Blake Nelson and Jim Parrack. No release date has been announced.
