Charli Xcx Milly Alcock Norman Reedus To Star In Takashi Miikes New Horror Film

"13 Assassins" and "Audition" filmmaker Takashi Miike's upcoming untitled slasher-horror film is rounding out a very interesting cast. The film, which is due to start filming in Japan next month, will star British singer-songwriter Charli xcx, Milly Alcock ("Supergirl"), Norman Reedus ("The Walking Dead"), actres-model-singer Kiko Mizuhara ("Attack on Titan") and Show Kasamatsu ("Tokyo Vice").

Known as "Untitled Kyoto", the film will follow three best friends who meet up in Kyoto to rekindle their lifelong friendships. What is intended to be a carefree girls trip devolves into a nightmare, unfolding when Katie (Charli xcx) becomes possessed by a violent, tortured spirit (Mizuhara) in the Japanese horror tradition.

Miike directs from a screenplay by Ross Evans ("How to Save a Marriage") and Yumiko Aoyagi ("Orphan Black" Japanese remake) based on Charli and Miike's original idea. Miike's longtime producing partner Misako Saka will produce on his behalf. Charli xcx is producing through her studio365 banner. Also producing are Good World Productions, Yumiko Aoyagi Productions and OLM. Alex Peace-Power will executive-produce.

The Veterans and CAA Media Finance are launching international sales ahead of the European Film Market in Berlin.

Charli xcx can also be seen starring in Daniel Goldhaber's remake of the 1978 cult horror film "Faces of Death", Greg Araki's erotic thriller "I Want Your Sex", Cathy Yan's "The Gallerist", Julia Jackman's period fantasy "100 Nights of Hero", Romain Gavras' satirical action film "Sacrifice" and Pete Ohs' drama "Erupcja".

Alcock can next be seen in DC's "Supergirl", and she recently wrapped filming Daina Oniunas-Pusić's dark comedy "Thumb".

Reedus will reprise his role in the upcoming third installment of "The Boondock Saints".
