Three And Three Extremes Limited Edition Collection New On Bluray

Product Description: Two anthology films, six ghostly tales of terror, acclaimed directors from Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and Japan. The ultimate omnibus of horror.

A trio of ghostly tales of terror, each from a different country, form the anthology Three. Initiated by acclaimed Hong Kong producer and director Peter Ho-Sun Chan, the film would prove highly influential in its innovative approach to pan-Asian horror, and lead to the shockingly compelling sequel, Three... Extremes. Dive into the ultimate omnibus of horror with both films lavishly restored and featuring a wealth of new and archival extras.

Korean genre maestro Kim Jee-woon (A Tale of Two Sisters) opens Three with "Memories", where a husband and wife with no memory of how they fell apart discover the terrifying truth behind their separation. In Thai filmmaker Nonzee Nimibutr's (Nang Nak) tale of guilt and jealousy, "The Wheel", a puppeteer fears his marionettes are possessed by the spirits of those he has wronged. Finally, in Peter Ho-Sun Chan's "Going Home", a widowed police officer and his young son move into a new apartment and uncover the chilling secret behind their new neighbor and his seemingly comatose wife.

Finally, Japanese Master of Horror Takashi Miike's (Audition) segment, "Box", sees a novelist plagued by nightmares of her past as a child circus performer with her long-lost twin sister, until she receives a mysterious invitation to return to the site of her old circus.

Shun Oguri Lily James Liv Morgan To Star In Takashi Miikes Bad Lieutenant Tokyo

Shun Oguri ("Godzilla v. Kong"), Lily James ("Pam and Tommy"), and WWE star Liv Morgan aka Gionna Daddio are set to star in Neon's upcoming film "Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo", which will be directed by Takashi Miike ("Audition", "13 Assassins").

The thriller will follow the Bad Lieutenant (Oguri), a corrupt gambler in the Metropolitan Police Force, who finds himself thrown into a tangled case after an enigmatic FBI agent (James) arrives in Tokyo to investigate the disappearance of a politician's daughter (Morgan). Meanwhile, a deviant killer operating in the yakuza underworld seems to be shadowing their moves.

The script is written by Daisuke Tengan ("Audition", "13 Assassins") based on the series that includes Abel Ferrara's 1992 film "Bad Lieutenant" and 2009's "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" directed by Werner Herzog. Production is set to begin in May. Neon will release the film theatrically in North America and represent the international sales rights in Cannes this month.

The film will be a U.S.-Japan co-production, produced by Jeremy Thomas for Recorded Picture Company, Sam Pressman for Pressman Film, Naoaki Kitajima for Nippon TV and Misako Saka for OLM. Executive producers include Tom Quinn, Yuzo Kuwahara, Tetsu Fujimura, Paula Paizes, Alainée Kent, Peter Watson, Ivan Kelava, Max Loeb and Mike Apgar. The deal was negotiated by Neon's Sarah Colvin, VP of Acquisitions, and Paula Paizes from Pressman Film and Recorded Picture Company's Ivan Kelava on behalf of the filmmakers.

Here's what Miike had to say about the project: "A team of incredibly talented actors and crew has gathered in Tokyo. Now. I'm about to throw a fastball straight down the middle of your strike zone – no tricks, no gimmicks. I'm confident we are about to break through every limit, to create unforgettable entertainment. Get ready for the ride with us".

Producer Jeremy Thomas of Recorded Picture Company added: "We're all delighted to reinterpret this iconic IP with a master filmmaker like Takashi Miike. We've produced 10 films in Japan, most recently Grand Maison Paris, which has grossed over $28M domestically, and it's a fertile place to create and distribute films. I feel the time is right for this irreverent hybrid."

Sam Pressman, CEO of Pressman Film said the following: "Director Miike brings a fearless new vision to the Bad Lieutenant, a character defined by the auteur. Just as maestros Ferrara and Herzog delivered films as radically different as their own voices, Miike's adaptation is unrelentingly wild and unique. My father Edward R. Pressman, always believed this story of corruption, both of police and the human soul, has a global resonance. To realize this next evolution now in Tokyo with Director Miike, NEON and my father's lifelong friend Jeremy Thomas — all true believers in the power of independent cinema — is both an honor and a dream come true."

graveyards-of-honor-1975-2002-new-on-bluray-special-edition

Product Description: Two peerless masters of Japanese cinema – Kinji Fukasaku (Battles without Honor and Humanity, Battle Royale) and Takashi Miike (Dead or Alive, Audition) – present their own distinctive adaptations of yakuza expert Goro Fujita's gangster novel Graveyard of Honor, each tapping into the zeitgeist of a distinct period of Japanese history.

Set during the turbulent post-war years, Fukasaku's original 1975 film charts the rise and fall of real-life gangster Rikio Ishikawa (Tetsuya Watari, Outlaw Gangster VIP). Shot through with the same stark realism and quasi-documentarian approach as Fukasaku's earlier Battles Without Honor and Humanity, Fukasaku nonetheless breaks new ground through his portrayal of a gangster utterly without honor or ethics, surviving by any means necessary in a world of brutal criminality.

Meanwhile, Miike's 2002 retelling transplants the story to Tokyo at the turn of the millennium. Less a direct remake of Fukasku's film than a radical reimagining of the same overarching premise, Miike's film captures both the hedonism and nihilism of the modern Japanese crime scene in deliriously stylish fashion, resulting in a fascinating companion piece to the original that nonetheless stands as its own entity.

With both films making their High Definition debut in a sumptuous limited edition packed with new and archival bonus content, Arrow Video is proud to present these two intertwined but unique crime thrillers from two celebrated filmmakers at the peak of their creative powers.

But can they unravel the mystery before the clock runs out on the next victim Yumi herself?
