Takashi Miike's upcoming untitled slasher-horror film is rounding out a very interesting cast. The film, which is due to start filming in Japan next month, will star

Kiko Mizuhara (
"Attack on Titan") and
Show Kasamatsu (
"Tokyo Vice").
Known as
"Untitled Kyoto", the film will follow three best friends who meet up in Kyoto to rekindle their lifelong friendships. What is intended to be a carefree girls trip devolves into a nightmare, unfolding when Katie (
Charli xcx) becomes possessed by a violent, tortured spirit (Mizuhara) in the Japanese horror tradition.
Miike directs from a screenplay by
Ross Evans (
"How to Save a Marriage") and
Yumiko Aoyagi (
"Orphan Black" Japanese remake) based on Charli and Miike's original idea. Miike's longtime producing partner
Misako Saka will produce on his behalf.
Charli xcx is producing through her studio365 banner. Also producing are Good World Productions, Yumiko Aoyagi Productions and OLM.
Alex Peace-Power will executive-produce.
The Veterans and CAA Media Finance are launching international sales ahead of the European Film Market in Berlin.
