Weekend Box Office: BLACK PHONE 2 Tops Worst Weekend of 2025

The Halloween Box Office was a complete disappointment. With around $49 million grossed between Friday and Sunday, it ended up being the worst weekend of 2025, and the worst box office weekend in 31 years ($49.2 million in 1993 unadjusted for inflation). Not only that, but October ended up being the lowest-grossing in 27 years with only $425 million, the worst since October 1997 ($385 million not adjusted for inflation).

"Black Phone 2" benefitted from the Halloween frame and climbed back to #1, while the romantic drama "Regretting You" followed closely in second place. The newly released animated horror comedy "Stitch Head" failed to find its audience.

"Stitch Head" is an animated horror comedy written and directed by Steve Hudson based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Guy Bass. The voice cast includes Asa Butterfield, Joel Fry, Tia Bannon, Rob Brydon, Seth Usdenov, Alison Steadman, Fern Brady and Jamali Maddix. The film opened in theaters on October 29, 2025.
