New on DVD and Blu-ray: July 11, 2017

This week on DVD and Blu-ray we have the new Fast & Furious installment "The Fate of the Furious", the complete 8-movie "Fast & Furious" collection, the biopic "The Lost City of Z" starring Charlie Hunnam, the World War II romantic dramedy "Their Finest", the animated film "Smurfs: The Lost Village", and the Emily Dickinson biopic "A Quiet Passion".

New TV series released on home video are the "Doctor Who" spinoff "Class", the second season of Syfy's "The Magicians", the prequel series "Prime Suspect: Tennison" and "The Tunnel: Sabotage".

Weekend Box-Office: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 Holds at #1 While KING ARTHUR and SNATCHED Fall Short of Expectations

As new wide releases "Snatched" and "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" ended up being total box-office disappointments, once again Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" topped the charts.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" proved once again that Marvel completely dominates the box-office. The film had no other major new releases to go up against, but I suspect that even if it did, it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Weekend Box-Office: FATE OF THE FURIOUS Scores $900M Worldwide

For a second consecutive weekend at the box-office, "The Fate of the Furious" topped the charts and continued to sweep ticket sales worldwide, while newcomers "Unforgettable", "The Promise" and "Phoenix Forgotten" were overtaken by Disney's nature documentary "Born in China".

THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

The highly anticipated "The Fate of the Furious" is finally in theaters. This is the eighth installment in the "Fast & Furious" franchise, and one that will shake the foundation of the F&F family as Dom (Vin Diesel) betrays those close to him after he is seduced by the mysterious and very evil Cipher (Charlize Theron).

Directed by F. Gary Gray ("Straight Outta Compton"), the film also stars Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Scott Eastwood and Patrick St. Esprit.

"The Fate of the Furious" received mixed to positive reviews and is expected to finish its opening weekend with around $103 million after grossing $46.5 million on Friday.

This week in theaters we have the highly anticipated eighth installment in the "Fast & Furious" franchise smugly titled "The Fate of the Furious", the relatively unknown animated feature "Spark: A Space Tail", and the Amazon (both the river and the studio) adventure film "The Lost City of Z". In limited release it may be worth checking out the period drama "A Quiet Passion" starring Cynthia Nixon.

A new trailer and posters for the sequel "The Fate of the Furious" have been released online. The film reunites the Fast & Furious family for an adventure that spans across Cuba, New York and Antarctica and pits them against a ferocious anarchist, played by Charlize Theron, who somehow finds a way to corrupt Dom (Vin Diesel) and turns him against his crew.

Directed by F. Gary Gray ("Straight Outta Compton"), the film also stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Helen Mirren, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Ptaky, Scott Eastwood and Kurt Russell.

"The Fate of the Furious" opens in theaters on April 14th.

The Super Bowl is over, and we now have a complete list of trailers for some of the most highly anticipated movies and TV shows of 2017. As usual, the studios dish out obscene sums of money to be able to get the opportunity to show off their products during the Super Bowl.

Universal has just unleashed the first trailer and poster for "The Fate of the Furious", the eighth installment in the "Fast and Furious" franchise.

With Brian and Mia retired from the life of the fast and the furious, and the rest of his crew exonerated, everything seems to have taken a turn for the normal for Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel). But a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) changes all that when she convinces Dom to return to a life of crime and betray his family.

Directed by F. Gary Gray ("Straight Outta Compton"), the film also stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren.
