Weekend Box-Office: SPIDER-MAN - NO WAY HOME Crosses $600M and Becomes 10th-Highest Grossing Domestic Release in History

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" continues to dominate the box-office this weekend. There were no new wide releases, and the other films that were already in theaters are fighting over whatever is left in the wake of the new Spider-Man movie. Most films saw a spike in business on New Year's Day, with wide releases seeing a near 42% climb over Friday.

Weekend Box-Office: SPIDER-MAN Crosses $1 Billion Worldwide; SING 2 Tops THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS

The Christmas weekend was extremely busy with a wide slate of new releases hitting theaters, but in the end it was still "Spider-Man: No Way Home" that dominated the holiday box-office. Meanwhile, "Sing 2", "The Matrix Resurrections", "The King's Man", "American Underdog" and "A Journal for Jordan" struggled with mixed results.

THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS (2021) - Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

"The Matrix Resurrections" is a sci-fi action film directed by Lana Wachowski from a script she co-wrote alongside "Cloud Atlas" writer David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon, writer of "The Lazarus Project".

The cast features franchise veterans Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Lambert Wilson and Jada Pinkett Smith, and they are joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Christina Ricci.

The film was released simultaneously in theaters and via HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
