"Dexter: Resurrection" is a crime drama series created by Clyde Phillips as a sequel series to "Dexter" and "Dexter: New Blood". Michael C. Hall reprises his iconic titular role as the show picks up a few weeks after the events of "New Blood".

The cast also includes Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, Eric Stonestreet, David Dastmalchian, David Zayas, Desmond Harrington, James Remar, John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits. The series premiered its first two episodes on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 11, 2025, and will make its cable debut on Showtime on July 13th.

8-BIT CHRISTMAS (2021) - Trailer, Images and Poster

"8-Bit Christmas" is a holiday comedy directed by Michael Dowser ("Goon", "Stuber") from a script by Kevin Jakubowski ("Assassination of a High School President"). The film is set in the late 1980s, and it follows a young boy who plans to get a Nintendo Entertainment System before everyone else. The cast features Neil Patrick Harris, Winslow Fegley, June Diane Raphael, David Cross and Steve Zahn. The film premiered on November 24, 2021 on HBO Max.

Neil Patrick Harris Joins Nicolas Cage in THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT

Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast of the action comedy "The Unbearable Weight of Massive", which is currently in production at Lionsgate.

The film will star Cage as a fictionalized version of himself who's creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, which leads him to accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a super fan played by Pedro Pascal. When things take a wildly dangerous turn, Cage is forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved onscreen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

Harris will play Cage's talent agent in the movie. The cast also includes Sharon Horgan as Cage's ex-wife, and Tiffany Haddish as an eccentric rogue government agent who is in a long-standing battle against one of the largest criminal organizations in Europe and forces Cage to go undercover in a last-ditch effort to bring that organization down for good.

Tom Gormican ("That Awkward Moment") will direct from a script co-written by Gormican and "Desperate Housewives" and "Workaholics" scribe Kevin Etten.

Harris is also set to star in the fourth "Matrix" movie opposite Keanu Reeves and the limited series "It's a Sin" for Channel 4 and HBO Max.

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS Season 2 Trailers, Clip, Featurettes, Images and Poster

Netflix has released the second season of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" on March 30, 2018. Produced by Barry Sonnenfeld, the show is based on Daniel Handler's popular children's books, and the new season adapts the middle installments in the series, specifically "The Austere Academy", "The Ersatz Elevator", "The Vile Village", "The Hostile Hospital", and "The Carnivorous Carnival Violet". The series will end with Season 3 in 2019.

The cast features Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Usman Ally and Patrick Warburton. New additions include Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Lucy Punch and Sara Rue.

LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS Trailers, Images and Poster

"Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" is a new adaptation of Daniel Handler's book series developed by Netflix. The series' first season features eight episodes and covers the first four books. A second season has already been announced, which will consist of 10 episodes, covering the fifth through ninth books. A third, unconfirmed, season will end the book series.

The cast features Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, Joan Cusack, Patrick Warburton, Catherine O'Hara, Will Arnett, K. Todd Freeman, Alfre Woodard and Aasif Mandvi. The script has been written by the book series' author himself, and Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black") directed episodes 1, 2, 5 and 6.

"Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" is now available via Netflix.

2015 Oscar Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 87th Academy Awards have been announced. The list includes some awards favorites like "Boyhood", "The Imitation Game", "Birdman" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel". The latter two lead the race with 9 nominations each. "Selma" was once again snubbed. While the drama managed to receive a Best Picture nod, it was left out of every other major category. The only other nomination the film received was for Best Original Song.

There was plenty of love, however, for Clint Eastwood's "American Sniper" which received 6 nominations including Best Picture and "The Imitation Game" which scored 8 nods including the major categories (Picture, Screenplay, Actor, Actress, Directing).

"The LEGO Movie" was also left out of the Best Animated Feature category, while "Big Hero 6", "The Boxtrolls" and "How to Train Your Dragon 2" made the cut alongside two surprises, the lesser known films "Song of the Sea" and "The Tale of Princess Kaguya".

The winners of the Academy Awards will be announced live when the ceremony airs on February 22nd (ABC). The show will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

Neil Patrick Harris and Lily Rabe to Appear in AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW

In a bit of surprise casting, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka and Lily Rabe are set to appear in the final episodes of "American Horror Story: Freak Show". Harris will make his guest star appearance on the 11th and 12th episodes as "a chameleon salesman" and Burtka will take part in "a sexy storyline with Jessica Lange’s batty chanteuse" in the 13th episode. The show's co-creator Ryan Murphy said this about Harris' role:

"He had very specific ideas for what he wanted to do, and I had very specific ideas, so we’re working on melding those."

Rabe will be in episode 10 and she will be reprising her role as Sister Mary Eunice from "Asylum". This is before Sister Mary became possessed and her participation will be tied to Pepper, revealing how the latter became an inmate at Briarcliff.

Murphy also acknowledged in an interview for EW that the seasons of "American Horror Story" are connected:

"They're all connected. We're just beginning to tell you how they're connected. They're all very separate but there's clues every season that we're now telling you how the different worlds are intertwined."

Neil Patrick Harris to Host 2015 Oscars

Neil Patrick Harris has been chosen to host the 2015 Oscars on February 22, 2015. The accomplished actor has plenty of experience in this regard having hosted numerous Tony and Emmy Awards shows in the past. While Ellen Degeneres received positive feedback for her hosting performance last year, she declined the offer to return next year. Harris was not the second choice either, as producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron also asked Chris Rock, who previously hosted in 2005, and "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, but both turned down the offer.

But, behind-the-scenes drama aside, Neil Patrick Harris does have the talent to pull off a solid awards-night performance, and there's even the possibility that he'll do some musical numbers. Time will tell. Until then, here is the Academy's official press release:

"Award-winning star of stage and screen Neil Patrick Harris will host the 87th Oscars®, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today. This will be Harris’ first time hosting the ceremony. The show will air live on ABC on Oscar® Sunday, February 22, 2015.

“We are thrilled to have Neil host the Oscars,” said Zadan and Meron. “We have known him his entire adult life, and we have watched him explode as a great performer in feature films, television and stage. To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, all of his resources and talent coming together on a global stage.”

A triple-threat performer, Harris has enjoyed a successful career in entertainment. He can currently be seen starring opposite Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in David Fincher’s critically-acclaimed feature film, “Gone Girl.” Harris garnered multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe award nominations for his role as Barney Stinson on the hit television series, “How I Met Your Mother,” and he won an Emmy for his guest-starring role on “Glee” in 2010. He also recently starred in the title role of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on Broadway, earning the 2014 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Harris served as host of the 61st and 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as the 63rd, 65th, 66th and 67th Tony Awards, for which he won four Emmys. The last two Oscars telecasts, which were produced by Zadan and Meron, received a major spike in the ratings. The 86th Oscars was TV’s most-watched entertainment event in 10 years and attracted the biggest viewership since 2000, with more than 45 million viewers. The show resulted in dramatic gains in younger demos and social media conversation, with more than one billion impressions generated on Twitter and 25 million interactions happening on Facebook on Oscar Sunday. Additionally, the star-studded “selfie” became the most retweeted photo of all time with 32.8 million views.

The Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 4:00 p.m., ET/7:00 p.m., PT. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide."

20th Century Fox has released the first clip from David Fincher's "Gone Girl" along with three new TV spots and a preview of the film's soundtrack which features an original score composed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who also authored the scores for Fincher's previous films "The Social Network" and "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". Based on Gillian Flynn's novel, the film stars Ben Affleck as a man suspected of killing his wife (Rosamund Pike) after she disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary. The full theatrical trailer for David Fincher's "Gone Girl" has been released. The film is based on the book written by Gillian Flynn and it stars Ben Affleck as a man suspected of killing his wife (Rosamund Pike) after she disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary. The new trailer focuses more on plot than atmosphere, but it gets the job done in making the film one of the most highly anticipated of the year. Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Scoot McNairy, Missi Pyle, Casey Wilson, Emily Ratajkowski and Neil Patrick Harris also star.
