"The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" is a comedy directed by Tom Gormican from a script he co-wrote alongside Kevin Etten. Nicolas Cage stars as a fictionalised version of himself who is caught between a superfan (Pedro Pascal) and a CIA agent (Tiffany Haddish). The cast also includes Neil Patrick Harris, Lily Mo Sheen, Paco Leon, Sharon Horgan, Jack Scipio and Demi Moore. The film opened in theaters on April 22, 2022.

Weekend Box-Office: THE BAD GUYS Takes Down SONIC and FANTASTIC BEASTS Sequels

DreamWorks Animation and Universal's "The Bad Guys" opened in theaters this week and dominated the weekend box-office, surpassing both "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" and "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore". Other new releases that made the Top 10 include the historical epic "The Northman" and the high-concept Nicholas Cage starrer "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent".

Neil Patrick Harris Joins Nicolas Cage in THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT

Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast of the action comedy "The Unbearable Weight of Massive", which is currently in production at Lionsgate.

The film will star Cage as a fictionalized version of himself who's creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, which leads him to accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a super fan played by Pedro Pascal. When things take a wildly dangerous turn, Cage is forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved onscreen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

Harris will play Cage's talent agent in the movie. The cast also includes Sharon Horgan as Cage's ex-wife, and Tiffany Haddish as an eccentric rogue government agent who is in a long-standing battle against one of the largest criminal organizations in Europe and forces Cage to go undercover in a last-ditch effort to bring that organization down for good.

Tom Gormican ("That Awkward Moment") will direct from a script co-written by Gormican and "Desperate Housewives" and "Workaholics" scribe Kevin Etten.

Harris is also set to star in the fourth "Matrix" movie opposite Keanu Reeves and the limited series "It's a Sin" for Channel 4 and HBO Max.
