Charles Dance To Join Robert Pattinson In The Batman Part Ii

"Game of Thrones" star Charles Dance is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming DC Studios sequel "The Batman: Part II". Matt Reeves returns to direct the new installment from a script he co-wrote alongside Mattson Tomlin. Production is expected to begin next month.

Robert Pattinson is set to reprise his role as the Caped Crusader, and he will be joined by Sebastian Stan who will star as Gotham district attorney Harvey Dent. Scarlett Johansson also stars as Dent's wife. If the deal goes through, Dance will play Dent's father, Charles. Andy Serkis will also return as Alfred.

"The Batman: Part II" will open in theaters on October 1, 2027. Producers include James Gunn, Peter Safran, and Dylan Clark.

Reeves' "The Batman" was released in thaters on March 4, 2022, and grossed $369.3 million at the domestic box office and $772 million worldwide. The sequel was first announced by Warner Bros at CinemaCon in April 2022, and was originally set for release in 2025, but was delayed twice.

Sebastian Stan To Star In The Batman 2

Oscar-nominatd MCU alum Sebastian Stan is in talks to join the cast of the long-awaited DC Studios sequel "The Batman Part II". It's unclear what part he'll play in Matt Reeves's film, which is expected to begin shooting next spring, but rumors seem to hint at a villain. Fans are speculating it might even be Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face, after Stan's stylist, Michael Fisher posted photoshopped photos of the actor as Two-Face on his Instagram. The release date is set for October 1, 2027.

"The Batman Part II" is written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin. Robert Pattinson will return in the lead role, and the cast also includes Scarlett Johansson in an unknown role, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is also expected to appear once more as the Joker.

"The Batman Part II" isn't officially part of the newly rebooted DCU, but it's still being developed under James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios banner. "The Batman" opened in theaters in 2022 and grossed $772 million worldwide.

Stan also stars in the upcoming Marvel movie "Avengers: Doomsday" and the Romanian thriller "Fjord" written/directed by Cristian Mungiu and co-starring Renate Reinsve.

Scarlett Johansson To Star In Batman 2

Two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson is in negotiations to join the cast of the highly anticipated sequel "The Batman Part II" from Warner Bros and DC Studios. Matt Reeves is back in the director's chair, and Robert Pattinson returns in the lead role. The new installment is expected to begin shooting next spring, and will be released in theaters on October 1, 2027.

The sequel's script was penned by Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin. Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman is not expected to return for the film, according to inside sources with knowledge of the production. Details of Johansson's role have not bee revealed.

"The Batman Part II" was originally announced in April 2022 at CinemaCon, with filming having been scheduled to start in October 2025. Production was later delayed and pushed back until October 2, 2026.

Reeves had this to say about the project: "It's been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I'm really proud of the script me and Mattson did. We put [the script] into a secret pouch that literally has a lock on it with a code. [Robert Pattinson] was in New York at the time, and everything is high security."

Johansson recently joined the cast of "The Exorcist" reboot directed by Mike Flanagan. She made her directorial debut with the drama "Eleanor the Great", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was released by Sony Pictures Classics. She is also set to star in James Gray's "Paper Tiger".

The Penguin Series Trailers Featurettes Images Posters

"The Penguin" is a crime drama series created by Lauren LeFranc based on the DC Comics character of the same name featured in the 2022 film "The Batman". The cast features Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Mark Strong, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Theo Rossi, Carmen Ejogo and Clancy Brown. The show premiered on September 19, 2024 on HBO/Max and is set to run for eight episodes.

Weekend Box Office Fantastic Beasts The Secrets Of Dumbledore

The new Wizarding World movie "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" opened in theaters this week, and while it dominated the box-office, it delivered a disappointing franchise-low debut. Sony's Mark Wahlberg movie "Father Stu" also opened in theaters, but failed to make an impression.

Meanwhile, Michael Bay's "Ambulance" continues to disappoint, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" continues to impress, a new Indian film makes it into the Top 10, and Warner Bros' "The Batman" crosses a new milestone.

Weekend Box-Office: THE BATMAN Threepeats With $36.8M and Hits $300M Domestically
"The Batman" is still the top movie at the box-office for a third consecutive weekend. The biggest surprise of the week, however, is the Japanese anime film "Jujutsu Kaisen 0", which pulled of quite an impressive feat. Other new releases this week include the horror films "X" and "Umma", the suspense thriller "The Outfit", and the Historical Hindi-language drama "The Kashmir Files".

Weekend Box-Office The Batman Sophomore frame

With no new wide releases for the weekend, "The Batman" had a clear path to the top of the box-office in its sophomore frame, and the film managed to perform better than any other recent Batman movie. Also, the Top 5 this weekend looks exactly the same as it did last week.

Colin Farrell to Star in THE BATMAN Spinoff THE PENGUIN at HBO Max

Colin Farrell is set to star in HBO Max's upcoming series "The Penguin", which is a spinoff of "The Batman". The film opened in theaters on March 4, and has so far grossed $279 million worldwide. Farrell will also executive produce alongside "The Batman" helmer Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark.

Farrell will reprise the role of the villainous character that first appeared in "The Batman", and the show will focus on Penguin's rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld. The script will be written by Lauren LeFranc ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", "Impulse"). The series has been in development since September, but Farrell was not attached at that time.

Farrell said the following in a statement:
"The world that Matt Reeves created for The Batman is one that warrants a deeper gaze through the eyes of Oswald Cobblepot. I couldn't be more excited about continuing this exploration of Oz as he rises through the darkened ranks to become the Penguin. Will be good to get him back on the streets of Gotham for a little madness and a little mayhem.".

HBO Max was also working on another Batman spinoff series set within the Gotham Police Department, but according to Reeves that one won't be moving forward. Instead, the series will focus on Arkham Asylum.

Farrell recently wrapped filming on "The Banshees of Inisherin" from writer/director Martin McDonough ("In Bruges").

  • The highly anticipated "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", a direct sequel to the original "Ghostbusters" movies. The film is directed by Jason Reitman ("Juno", "Up in the Air"), and it stars Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim, Bokeem Woodbine alongside franchise veterans Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

Today we have new trailers for:
  • Christopher Nolan's new sci-fi epic "Tenet" starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clemence Poesy, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh. The will be one of the first major studio movies to be released in theaters during the quarantine.
  • Matt Reeves' "The Batman" starring Robert Pattinson. Although the film is still in production, which is expected to resume next month, the director showcased footage from the film at the online event DC FanDome.
  • The sequel "Wonder Woman 1984" starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. The new trailer was released during the special online event DC FanDome.
  • The DC anti-superhero movie "Black Adam" starring Dwayne Johnson. This one was also unveiled during DC FanDome, but it's not really a trailer, but a "Concept Art" teaser.
  • Zack Snyder's highly anticipated director's cut of "Justice League". The so-called "Zack Snyder Cut" will be four-hours long and will premiere in 2021 on HBO MAX.
  • The Netflix rom-com "Love, Guaranteed" starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Damon Wayans Jr., and Heather Graham.

Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis in Talks to Join THE BATMAN

Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell could be the latest additions to the cast of Matt Reeves' upcoming DC movie "The Batman". Both actors are currently in negotiations. The film will not be another origin story, but rather a "defining" and "very personal" story about the Dark Knight.

Serkis will reteam with Reeves, who also directed him in two "Planet of the Apes" movies, and will play Alfred Pennyworth, the Dark Knight's butler. Farrell is in talks to star as The Penguin, and will join a hefty roster of villains for the film, alongside Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.

The film also stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, and Jeffrey Wright as the Dark Knight's ally Commissioner Gordon. "The Batman" will open in theaters on June 25, 2021.

Serkis is next set to direct "Venom 2" for Sony Pictures. Farrell is currently filming the miniseries "The North Water".
