Release Date Announcements : ARGO, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN and WAR HORSE
ARGO - September 14, 2012
Official Synopsis: Based on true events, “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis—the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA “exfiltration” specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL - December 21, 2011.
Official Synopsis: Director Brad Bird and Producer J.J. Abrams bring us the action packed, entertainment event of the holiday season with MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL. This is not just another mission. The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.

WAR HORSE - December 25, 2011
Official Synopsis: DreamWorks Pictures’ “War Horse,” director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure, is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets–British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter–before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land. The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse–an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. “War Horse” is one of the great stories of friendship and war– a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN (2011) - Trailer
Rejoice Tintin fans, the trailer for the Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson collaboration is here. The animation looks crisp and fluid in a way that even Zemeckis' movies couldn't achieve, although, to be fair, the trailer doesn't give away too many character scenes. But, it's all pretty photorealistic. The animation and effects are handled by WETA Digital, the studio behind the visual effects of "Avatar" and "Lord of the Rings". "The Adventures of Tintin : The Secret of the Unicorn" stars, both in voice and motion capture, Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis (of course), Cary Elwes and Simon Pegg. This also marks the return of film composer John Williams, Spielberg's usual collaborator, after taking quite a break from scoring. The movie opens on December 23, 2011.
