VILLAINS (2019) - Trailers, Clips, Images and Poster

"Villains" is a horror comedy written and directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. The film stars Bill Skarsgard and Maika Monroe as a pair of amateur criminals who make the mistake of breaking into a suburban home owned by two sadistic homeowners, played by Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Donovan, who will do anything to keep them from getting out.

"Villains" premiered at the 2019 South by Southwest, and received a limited release in theaters on September 20, 2019.

In Theaters: AD ASTRA, RAMBO - LAST BLOOD, DOWNTON ABBEY and VILLAINS

The new releases this week look like solid contenders for the top spot, even against a still-strong "It: Chapter Two". The first new film, the sci-fi adventure drama "Ad Astra" starring Brad Pitt has been receveing strong buzz from critics, but it looks like audiences are mixed about it ("B-" grade from CinemaScore's polls). Regardless, the film has delivered $1.5 million from previews on Thursday night, on par with "Arrival", and could finish its opening weekend with around $19 million from 3,460 theaters.

Then there's Sylvester Stallone's final chapter in the Rambo franchise, the R-rated action thriller "Rambo: Last Blood", a film that reinforces the divide between critics and audiences, as the former disliked it, while the latter seem to enjoy it ("B" grade from CinemaScore). "Last Blood" brought in $1.3 million from previews and could end up with as much as $20 million from 3,618 theaters.

But the weekend's real star seems to be "Downton Abbey", the feature film sequel to the hit TV show of the same name. Beloved by both critics and moviegoers ("A" grade from CinemaScore), the film grossed $2.1 million from Thursday night previews, and pundits expect this one to debut with an estimated $22 million from 3,079 theaters.

In limited release it might be worth checking out the horror comedy "Villains" starring Bill Skarsgard, Maika Monroe, Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Donovan.

Ferrari" starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, that chronicles the events surrounding the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France in 1966, when American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and fearless British driver Ken Miles (Bale) joined forces to create the Ford GT40. Directed by James Mangold ("Logan", "Walk the Line"), the film also stars Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Tracy Letts and Josh Lucas.
• The historical biopic "Radioactive" starring Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike ("Gone Girl") as Polish-French physicist and chemist Marie Curie who in the early 1900s became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. Directed by Marjane Satrapi ("Persepolis"), the film also stars Sam Riley, Aneurin Barnard, Anya Taylor-Joy and Simon Russell Beale.
• The Australian horror comedy "Little Monsters" starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o. The film is written and directed by Australian filmmaker Abe Forsythe ("Down Under").
• The crime comedy "Villains" written and directed by indie filmmakers Dan Berk and Robert Olsen ("The Stakelander"). The film stars Bill Skarsgard ("It"), Maika Monroe ("It Follows"), Jeffrey Donovan ("Burn Notice") and Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer").
• The drama "Queen & Slim" starring Daniel Kaluuya ("Get Out") and Jodie Turner-Smith ("Jett"). The film is directed by TV helmer Melina Matsoukas ("Insecure") from a script by Lena Waithe ("The Chi").
• The period drama "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" from French writer-director Celine Sciamma ("Girlhood", "Water Lilies"). The film stars Noemie Merlant ("Heaven Will Wait") and Adele Haenel ("Love at First Sight"), and it won the Best Screenplay award and the Queer Palm Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
