The 12th season of "The Brokenwood Mysteries" has premiered on April 6, 2026 on Acorn TV. The new season features six new feature-length standalone mysteries. The main cast includes Neill Rea, Fern Sutherland, Jarod Rawiri, and Cristina Ionda. Supporting cast features Jason Hoyte, Shane Cortese, Karl Willetts, Colin Moy, Tracy Lee Gray, Zara Cormack, Cameron Rhodes, and Roy Ward. Writer and director Mike Smith is back for the new season, while Jacqueline Nairn, Katie Wolfe, and Awanui Simich-Pene also helm episodes.

"The quirky mystery follows DI Mike Shepherd and DC Kristin Sims, who investigate crimes in the sleepy and secret-filled town of Brokenwood, New Zealand.
