Anna Chlumsky and Leslie Bibb Star in Cold War Crime Series TOP OF THE ROCK

Emmy-nominated actress Anna Chlumsky ("Veep") and Leslie Bibb ("The White Lotus") have signed on to star in the upcoming Cold War crime series "Top of the Rock" created by Davíð Óskar Ólafsson ("The Valhalla Murders", "Trom"), Jón Atli Jónasson ("Arctic Circle", "The Deep"), and Ragnar Jónsson ("Black Sands"). The six-part drama will be directed by Ólafsson and written by Jónasson and Óttar M. Norðfjörð ("The Darkness", "The Valhalla Murders", "Reykjavík 112").

Set in 1983, amid escalating Cold War paranoia, the series follows Captain Diane Goodman (Bibb), a U.S. military police investigator, and MP Sarah Ellis (Chlumsky), both stationed at the NATO base in Keflavík, when an American soldier is found dead under suspicious circumstances outside the base. Forced to work closely with the Icelandic police, Goodman and Ellis uncover a web of espionage, betrayal and political deceit — trapped between duty and diplomacy, the two women must navigate a dangerous network of secrets before more lives are lost.

The show hails from Iceland's leading production company, Truenorth ("Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning", "The Northman"), alongside Mystery Productions and Vertu. It is produced by Kristinn Thordarson, Ólafsson and Ágúst Freyr Ingason, with Truenorth's CEO and founder Leifur B. Dagfinnsson serving as executive producer. Casting is led by Emmy Award-winning casting director Alexa L. Fogel ("True Detective", "Ozark", "Smoke", "Black Rabbit"), who also serves as an executive producer on the series.

Ólafsson said the following in a statement: "Early on we knew the role of Sarah Ellis would need to be someone with a formidable screen presence. Anna Chlumsky's ability to switch between genres is like no other, and she absolutely embodies every character she's played across her phenomenal career. We're beyond ecstatic to round out the leads in 'Top of the Rock' with two of the most brilliant actors."

SMOKE Series Trailer, Clip, Images and Poster

"Smoke" is a new crime drama series created, written and executive produced by author Dennis Lehane ("The Drop", "Mystic River", "Shutter Island") based on true events. The nine-episode series is inspired by truth.media's acclaimed "Firebug" podcast, which was hosted by Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Kary Antholis, and it follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator as they pursue the trails of two serial arsonists.

AMC premiered the first two episodes of the fourth and final season of the period drama series "Halt and Catch Fire" on August 19th, 2017. Created by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers, the show offers dramatized insight into the personal computer revolution of the 1980s and the rise of the World Wide Web in the early 1990s.

The fourth season focuses on the expansion of the Internet outside of research institutions to the massses, and the invention of the web browser. Anna Chlumsky ("Veep") joins the cast as Chief Ontologist Dr. Katie Herman.

The series stars Lee Pace, Scott McNairy, Mackenzie Davis, Kerry Bishe, Toby Huss, Annabeth Gish, Kathryn Newton and Susanna Skaggs.

The next episode of "Halt and Catch Fire" will air on August 26th, 2017.

The film is a biopic that focuses on the five-day interview between Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) and acclaimed novelist David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel), which took place right after the 1996 publication of Wallace's groundbreaking epic novel "Infinite Jest".
