Product Description: Set in the Los Angeles of the slight future, Her follows Theodore Twombly, a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive entity in its own right, individual to each user. Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet "Samantha," a bright, female voice, who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each other.

2014 Writers Guild of America Award Winners

The Writers Guild of America Awards winners have been announced. In the film categories, the award for Best Original Screenplay went to Spike Jonze for "Her", Billy Ray won Best Adapted Screenplay for "Captain Phillips" and Best Documentary Screenplay was awarded to Sarah Polley for "Stories We Tell". As far as predictions for the Oscars go, the WGA have a high prediction factor and have accurately indicated Oscar winners in the past, but it should be taken into account that in the Best Adapted Screenplay category, the WGA ruled that "12 Years a Slave" wasn't eligible. Considering how "12 Years a Slave" is a strong contender at the Oscars, and it has been nominated for Adapted Screenplay, it's still the favorite to win. In television, the big winners were "Veep", "Breaking Bad" and "House of Cards".
