Katie Holmes To Star In, Write & Direct HAPPY HOURS Film Trilogy

Katie Holmes is set to write, direct and star in the character-driven dramedy "Happy Hours", a new film trilogy produced by Maven Screen Media and Bond Street Station, in association with Crown Productions and STX Films. Holmes will reunite with her "Dawson's Creek" co-star Joshua Jackson. Production on the first film is underway in New York City, and will be immediately followed by the second and third installments.

"Happy Hours" explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope. It has been described as a story about two people (Jackson and Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life’s inevitable obstacles.

The cast also includes Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin.

Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler produce for Maven Screen Media, alongside Peter Coleman and Paula P. Manzanedo for Bond Street Station. Annie Herndon will oversee for STX Films, with Jenny Halper, Sophia Pedlow and Jackie Donohoe overseeing for Maven.

POKER FACE Season 2 Trailer, Clip, Images and Posters

The second season of the crime dramedy series "Poker Face" has premiered on May 8, 2025 on Peacock. Created by Rian Johnson, the show stars Natasha Lyonne as a cocktail waitress with the uncanny ability to tell when people are lying, a skill she uses to investigate and solve crimes. The Season 2 cast includes Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, Giancarlo Esposito, Awkwafina, Clifford “Method Man” Smith, Justin Theroux, Taylor Schilling, Kumail Nanjiani, John Mulaney, John Cho, Simon Rex, David Alan Grier, Melanie Lynskey and more.

Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Kumail Nanjiani and Gaby Hoffmann Join POKER FACE Season 2

The guest cast of the second season of Peacock's mystery series "Poker Face" is starting to shape up with big names like Giancarlo Esposito ("Breaking Bad"), Katie Holmes ("Ray Donovan", "Our Town"), Kumail Nanjiani ("Welcome to Chippendales") and Gaby Hoffmann ("Transparent"). The four actors will join series lead Natasha Lyonne. The season doesn't yet have a premiere date. Tony Tost is the executive producer and showrunner on Season 2.

The guest star list for "Poker Face" Season 1 included Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, Chloë Sevigny, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stephanie Hsu, Clea DuVall, Dascha Polanco, Hong Chau, Megan Suri, Danielle Macdonald, Judith Light, Ellen Barkin, Tim Meadows, Jameela Jamil, Charles Melton, Rowan Blanchard and Rhea Perlman.

The show stars Lyonne as Charlie Cale, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.

"Poker Face" received four Emmy nominations for its first season, including a nod for best actress in a comedy series for Lyonne.

Rian Johnson created the series and serves as director and executive producer via T-Street. Lyonne executive produces and directs on the series in addition to starring under her production banner, Animal Pictures. T-Street's Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue also executive produce along with Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, and Lilla Zuckerman. T-Street and MRC produce.

"Brahms: The Boy II is a horror directed by William Brent Bell from a script by Stacey Menear. The film is a sequel to Bell's 2016 film "The Boy".

The film follows a young family that moves into a guest house on the Heelshire Mansion estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms. The film is a stand-alone sequel that retcons most of the first film's story. The cast features Katie Holmes, Owain Yeoman, Christopher Convery, Ralph Ineson and Anjali Jay.

LOGAN LUCKY Trailers, Clips, Images and Posters

The heist comedy "Logan Lucky" marks Steven Soderbergh's return to the director's chair after a four-year hiatus. The last film he directed was the 2013 biopic "Behind the Candelabra".

The film stars Channing Tatum, Adam Driver and Riley Keough as three siblings who decide to pull off a heist at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race on Memorial Day weekend. The ensemble cast also includes Daniel Craig, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterston, Dwight Yoakam, Seth MacFarlane, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson, Jack Quaid, Hilary Swank, Macon Blair and Farrah Mackenzie.

"Logan Lucky" opened in theaters on August 18th, 2017 and received mostly positive reviews, with most of the praise directed at Soderbergh's direction and the pitch-perfect cast.

The director attempted a new distribution model that aimed to give directors more creative control by cutting out studios and get the money directly to the film itself. Distribution was handled by Soderbergh's own Fingerprint Releasing and the film's $29 million budget was raised by selling off foreign distribution rights, while the prints and advertising costs were covered through a deal with Amazon. The model wasn't quite a big hit as the film opened with only $7.6 million, while Soderbergh said that a $15 million debut would be needed in order to considered as a success. The film grossed another $4.2 million in its second weekend. A major reason for the film's failure to take off might have been Soderbergh's decision to hold back most of the film's advertising until right before its release, which seemed like an effective method, but didn't really pay off in the end.

THE KENNEDYS: AFTER CAMELOT Trailer, Images and Poster

"The Kennedys: After Camelot" is a four hour miniseries that serves as a sequel to 2011's "The Kennedys" and it's based on the book "After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family--1968 to the Present" by J. Randy Taraborrelli.

Katie Holmes reprises her role as Jacqueline Kennedy in the aftermath of the assassination of her husband, President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, as she becomes Jackie Onassis, and Matthew Perry stars as Sen. Ted Kennedy. Alexander Siddig, Kristen Hager, Brett Donahue and Diana Hardcastle co-star.

The world premiere of "The Kennedys: After Camelot" is tonight on Reelz at 9p ET, and the conclusion airs on Sunday April 9th.

Five New WOMAN IN GOLD Clips

The drama "Woman in Gold" opens today in theaters, and to mark the occasion we have five new clips. Based on a true story, the film follows the struggles of Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren), an octogenarian Jewish refugee, who takes on the government to recover artwork she believes rightfully belongs to her family. Directed by Simon Curtis ("My Week With Marilyn"), the film also stars Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Bruhl, Katie Holmes, Charles Dance, Elizabeth McGovern and Frances Fisher. Much like this week's period drama "Effie Gray", critics are having mixed feelings about this one. While the cast's performances have been praised, the film seems to suffer from the same kind of bland retelling of a true story.

WOMAN IN GOLD Trailer and Poster: Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren Epic Journey for Justice

The first trailer and poster for the drama "Woman in Gold" have been released. Directed by Simon Curtis ("My Week With Marilyn"), the film stars Helen Mirren as Maria Altmann, an octogenarian Jewish refugee, who partners with an inexperienced but determined young lawyer (Ryan Reynolds) to sue the Austrian Government to reclaim a family painting called Lady In Gold, that was stolen during World War II. The film also stars Daniel Bruhl, Katie Holmes, Charles Dance, Elizabeth McGovern and Frances Fisher.

"Woman in Gold" opens in theaters on April 3rd.
