Katie Holmes To Star In, Write & Direct HAPPY HOURS Film Trilogy

Katie Holmes is set to write, direct and star in the character-driven dramedy "Happy Hours", a new film trilogy produced by Maven Screen Media and Bond Street Station, in association with Crown Productions and STX Films. Holmes will reunite with her "Dawson's Creek" co-star Joshua Jackson. Production on the first film is underway in New York City, and will be immediately followed by the second and third installments.

"Happy Hours" explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope. It has been described as a story about two people (Jackson and Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life’s inevitable obstacles.

The cast also includes Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin.

Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler produce for Maven Screen Media, alongside Peter Coleman and Paula P. Manzanedo for Bond Street Station. Annie Herndon will oversee for STX Films, with Jenny Halper, Sophia Pedlow and Jackie Donohoe overseeing for Maven.

"The Friend" is a drama written and directed by Scott McGehee & David Siegel ("What Maisie Knew") based on the 2018 novel by Sigrid Nunez. The film tells a story of love, friendship, grief and healing, and follows a writer who adopts a Great Dane that belonged to a late friend and mentor.

The cast includes Naomi Watts, Bill Murray, Sarah Pidgeon, Carla Gugino, Constance Wu and Ann Dowd. The film premiered at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, and will be released in theaters nationwide on April 4, 2025.

The film follows a crew of savvy strippers in New York City, who band together and hatch a criminal plot to turn profits, after the sex industry bottoms out due to the 2008 financial crisis. The cast includes Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Cardi B, Lizzo, Julia Stiles, Madeline Brewer and Mercedes Ruehl.

The romantic comedy "Crazy Rich Asians" is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Kevin Kwan. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu ("Now You See Me 2") from a script by Peter Chiarelli ("The Proposal") and Adele Lim (episodes of "Lethal Weapon" and "Life Unexpected").

Constance Wu stars as Rachel, a native New Yorker who accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick (Henry Golding) to his best friend's wedding in Singapore. "Dimension 404" is a new sci-fi anthology series that premiered on the streaming service Hulu on April 4th 2017. The show was created by Desmond Dolly and Will Campos and features six hour-long episodes ranging from horror comedy to mind-bending action adventure, and focusing on weird and wild sci-fi tales. Expect twist endings.
