THE FRIEND (2024) - Trailer, Images and Posters

"The Friend" is a drama written and directed by Scott McGehee & David Siegel ("What Maisie Knew") based on the 2018 novel by Sigrid Nunez. The film tells a story of love, friendship, grief and healing, and follows a writer who adopts a Great Dane that belonged to a late friend and mentor.

The cast includes Naomi Watts, Bill Murray, Sarah Pidgeon, Carla Gugino, Constance Wu and Ann Dowd. The film premiered at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, and will be released in theaters nationwide on April 4, 2025.

Scarlett Johansson Joins Cast Of Wes Anderson's Next Movie

Two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson ("Marriage Story", "Black Widow") has signed on to star in Wes Anderson's upcoming film, which is currently in production in Spain. Johansson previously voiced a character in Anderson's 2018 stop-motion animated film "Isle of Dogs".

The film's title and plot are being kept under wraps, so there are no details available regarding Johansson's role. The cast already includes Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, Adrian Brody, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Rupert Friend and Tilda Swinton.

Johansson can next be heard reprising her role as Ash in Universal's animated sequel "Sing 2". Anderson's recent film "The French Dispatch", which premiered in Cannes, will be released on October 22, 2021 by Searchlight Pictures.
