Camila Morrone And Danny Ramirez Join Miami Vice 85

Emmy nominee Camila Morrone ("Daisy Jones & The Six", "Something Very Bad is Going to Happen") and Danny Ramirez ("Top Gun: Maverick") are set to co-star opposite Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler in "Miami Vice '85". The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick", "F1") from a script by Dan Gilroy ("Nightcrawler") and an earlier draft by Eric Warren Singer ("American Hustle"), based on the Emmy-winning 1980s crime drama series created by Anthony Yerkovich and executive produced by Michael Mann ("Heat").

The cast also includes Alden Ehrenreich and Whitney Peak. No character details are available, but it has been reported that Morrone received the offer to star in the film immediately after a final chemistry test with Butler.

"Miami Vice '85" explores the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami in an all-new version of Miami Vice, inspired by the pilot episode of the landmark Universal Television series that influenced culture and set the style of everything from fashion to filmmaking.

Production is set to begin this year, and the film will be shot in IMAX. The release date has been set for May 19, 2028.

Dylan Clark will produce via Dylan Clark Productions, alongside Kosinski and Michael Mann. EVP Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Executive of Production Development Christina Hoffrogge will oversee the project for the studio.

Morrone is also set to lead Netflix’s series adaptation of "The Age of Innocence". She can next be seen in the drama "Gonzo Girl" directed by Patricia Arquette and co-starring Willem Dafoe.

Ramirez recently wrapped production on Todd Haynes' new film "De Noche", which also stars Pedro Pascal. He can be seen next in Marvel's "Avengers: Doomsday".

Alden Ehrenreich Joins Michael B. Jordan And Austin Butler in MIAMI VICE '85
Alden Ehrenreich ("Weapons", "Oppenheimer") has joined the cast of Universal Pictures' "Miami Vice '85", a reimagining of the classic 1980s crime drama series. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick", "F1") from a script by Dan Gilroy ("Nightcrawler") based on characters created by Anthony Yerkovich. Eric Warren Singer ("Top Gun: Maverick") wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay.

The film explores the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami in an all-new version of "Miami Vice", inspired by the pilot episode of the landmark Universal Television series that influenced culture and set the style of everything from fashion to filmmaking. Bringing current technological expertise to the sights and sounds of the series, "Miami Vice '85" will be filmed for IMAX, and is expected to begin production this year. The release date has been set for May 19, 2028.

Dylan Clark will produce via Dylan Clark Productions, alongside Kosinski and Michael Mann. EVP Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Executive of Production Development Christina Hoffrogge will oversee the project for the studio.

This year, Ehrenreich won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his Broadway debut as Max in the revival of Gina Gionfriddo's dark comedy "Becky Shaw". He can next be seen opposite Helen Mirren in Anton Corbijn's "A Talent for Murder", which premieres at the 2026 Toronto Film Festival. He will also star opposite Daisy Ridley in the romantic comedy "The Last Resort".

Onslaught Movie Trailer

The film is the second remake of the 1968 film, which starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. The other remake was released in 1999 and starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
  • "Jumanji: Open World", the final installmant in the reboot trilogy directed by Jake Kasdan. The cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, Rhys Darby, Nick Jonas, and Danny DeVito.
  • Broken Lizard's comedy sequel "Super Troopers 3". Jay Chandrasekhar once again directs and stars alongside Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, Brian Cox, Marisa Coughlan, Nat Faxon and Chace Crawford.
  • Shudder's supernatural horror thriller "The Cycle" starring Deborah Ann Woll ("Daredevil") and Jeffrey Donovan ("Burn Notice").
  • Netflix's coming-of-age comedy "Don't Say Good Luck" starring Adam Sandler's daughter Sunny Sandler, Steve Buscemi, Melanie Lynskey and Max Greenfield.

The adult fantasy romance novel "Fourth Wing" is getting a TV adaptation at Amazon Prime Video. "Fourth Wing" is the first book in the Empyrean series written by Rebecca Yarros, and it's set inside the brutal world of Basgiath War College, where there is only one rule: graduate or die. The story follows twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail, who was always expected to live a quiet life, until she's sent on an entirely different path when her mother, a general in the military, orders her to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become dragon riders, the elite of Navarre.

The series will be executive produced by Michael B. Jordan, who announced the series pickup at the end of Amazon's upfront presentation to TV advertisers at the Beacon Theatre. "Westworld" co-creator Lisa Joy is also an executive producer and will direct the first episode. Meredith Averill, who co-created Netflix's "Locke & Key" will serve as showrunner.

Outlier president Elizabeth Raposo will executive produce alongside Jonathan Nolan and Athena Wickham of Kilter Films. Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark are executive producing for Premeditated Productions. Outlier Society executive vice president of TV, Stefano Agosto, will co-executive produce.

"Fourth Wing" was released in May 2023, followed by sequel "Iron Flame" in November 2023 and third book "Onyx Storm" in January 2025. The titles and release dates for the planned fourth and fifth books have not yet been announced.

Yarros had this to say about the project: "I'm thrilled to be working with this dedicated, experienced team and grateful for their passion for both the books and the readership behind them"

Swapped 2026 Movie Trailer Clips Featurette Images Posters

"Swapped" is an animated fantasy adventure film directed by Nathan Greno ("Tangled") from a script by John Whittington ("Sonic the Hedgehog 3"), Christian Magalhaes & Robert Sno ("WondLa") based on a story they co-wrote alongside Greno and Adam Karp.

The voice cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Juno Temple, Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, and Justina Machado. The film premiered on Netflix on May 1, 2026.

Miami Vice Movie Title Austin Butler Michael B Jordan Officially Set To Star

Universal Pictures announced a few major updates regarding their upcoming "Miami Vice" big screen reboot. First of all, the film has a new title, which is "Miami Vice '85". Secondly, it has now been officially confirmed that Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan ("Sinners") and Oscar nominee Austin Butler ("Elvis") are set to star, as the two actors closed their respective deals with the studio.

The reboot, which is directed by Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick", "F1") from a script by Oscar nominee Dan Gilroy ("Nightcrawler"), will explore the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami in an all-new version inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the landmark Universal Television series that influenced culture and set the style in everything from fashion to filmmaking.

Jordan and Butler will star as Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, and James "Sonny" Crockett, characters portrayed by Philip Michael Thomas and Don Johnson in the classic 1980s TV series, and by Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell in Michael Mann's 2006 big-screen adaptation. Production starts later this year, and the film will be shot for IMAX. The release date has been set for August 6, 2027.

"Miami Vice '85" will be produced by Dylan Clark via his Dylan Clark Productions and Kosinski. Gilroy is writing the script, based on characters created by Anthony Yerkovich from the series executive produced by Yerkovich and Michael Mann. Eric Warren Singer wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay. EVP Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Executive of Production Development Christina Hoffrogge will oversee the project for Universal.

Jordan will next direct, star in and produce Amazon MGM Studios' remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair", which will be released in theaters on March 5, 2027. Butler's next film is the A24 crime thriller "Enemies", in which he stars opposite Jeremy Allen White.

Oscar Winners 2026 Complete List

"One Battle After Another" was the big winner at the 98th Academy Awards. Paul Thomas Anderson's dark satire took home six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor (Sean Penn's third Oscar), Best Film Editing, and Best Casting.

Ryan Coogler's vampire horror film "Sinners" entered the ceremony with a record 16 nominations, but finished as the second-biggest winner of the night, with only four awards: Best Actor (Michael B. Jordan), Original Screenplay (Coogler), Cinematography and Original Score.

"Frankenstein" followed in third place with a total of three Oscars for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Production Design and Costume Design.

Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for "Hamnet", while Amy Madigan took home the trophy for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the horror film "Weapons".

The animated musical "KPop Demon Hunters" won two Oscars for Original Song ("Golden") and Best Animated Feature Film.

Austin Butler in Early Talks to Join Michael B. Jordan in MIAMI VICE Reboot
Austin Butler ("Elvis", "Dune: Part Two") is in early negotiations to join Universal's upcoming "Miami Vice" reboot directed by Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick", "F1"). If the deal goes through, Butler would play James "Sonny" Crockett, the role previously played by Don Johnson in the classic 1980s TV series. Michael B. Jordan is also in early talks to star as Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, portrayed by Philip Michael Thomas in the show.

The film is set to start filming later in 2026, and is scheduled for release on August 6, 2027. Kosinski will direct from a recent draft of the script penned by Dan Gilroy ("Nightcrawler", "Andor"). Eric Warren Singer ("Top Gun: Maverick", "American Hustle") penned the first draft. Dylan Clark and Kosinski serve as producers

Kosinski's reboot will explore the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami, inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the NBC series created by Anthony Yerkovich and executive produced by Michael Mann. The show was previously adapted for the big screen in a 2006 film of the same name directed by Mann, which starred Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx in the lead roles.

Michael B Jordan To Star In Rainbow Six Movie

Although not a particularly huge hit, the 2021 thriller "Without Remorse" was a Tom Clancy adaptation that was intended as the first chapter in a franchise starring Michael B. Jordan. With the pandemic wreaking havoc, the film got dumped on Amazon Prime, and it looked like the franchise was pretty much dead. Paramount, however, has big plans for it going forward.

Recent reports indicate that Chad Stahelski, the helmer of the "John Wick" movies, is on board to direct a sequel to "Without Remorse" that will be based on Clancy's "Rainbow Six" novel, which features Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative John Clark, who was played by Jordan in the first film. "Without Remorse" ended with Clark planning to establish a multinational anti-terrorist team codenamed: Rainbow.

"Rainbow Six" also spawned a successful video game franchise. Its most recent installments include the highly popular online tactical shooter "Rainbow Six: Siege" and the less successful follow-up "Extraction". The character John Clark, one of Clancy's most iconic characters, was previously played by Willem Dafoe in "Clear and Present Danger", and Liev Schreiber in "The Sum of All Fears".

Stahelski is also attached to direct the upcoming "Highlander" remake which stars Henry Cavill in the lead role, and the PlayStation video game adaptation "Ghost of Tsushima".

Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan Team Up for I AM LEGEND sequel

Warner Bros is developing an "I Am Legend" sequel with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan ("Black Panther", "Creed"). Both are set to star and produce. The sequel's script is penned by Akiva Goldsman, who also adapted Richard Matheson's 1954 novel of the same name for the 2007 film. The idea for this project originated as far back as 2012.

Since the film is still in development there are no details about the plot. No director is attached as of yet. The original film was directed by Francis Lawrence ("Constantine", "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire") and it starred Smith as the sole survivor of a plague that wiped out most of humanity and transformed the rest into monsters. The post-apocalyptic thriller grossed over $585 million worldwide.

Smith recently finished work on the thriller "Emancipation" directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day"), which has been sold to Apple TV+ for $120 million.

Jordan will make his feature directorial debut with the sequel "Creed III", in which he also stars. The film will open in theaters on November 23rd.
