AnnaSophia Robb Joins Will Smith in Action Thriller SUPERMAX
AnnaSophia Robb ("Rebel Ridge", "Soul Surfer") has signed to star in Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax's upcoming action thriller "Supermax". The film is directed by David Gordon Green ("Halloween" sequel reboot trilogy) from a script by David Rosen ("Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed") and David Weil ("Hunters", "Citadel").

The film follows two FBI agents, played by Will Smith and Robb, who must solve a baffling homicide at a maximum-security prison where a murder should have been impossible. Amazon MGM Studios will handle worldwide distribution for the film, which will be available in more than 240 countries and territories on Prime Video.

Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman will produce via The Picture Company, alongside Smith and Adam Fishbach for Westbrook, Weil, Rosen, Natalie Laine Williams, Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman, President of Film Alexandra Loewy, COO Thom Zadra and SVP Spencer Ela.

Robb can next be seen in Peter Farrelly's biographical drama "I Play Rocky", and she will also join the recurring cast of the Prime Video comedy "Overcompensating" for its second season.

Will Smith To Star In David Gordon Green Action Thriller Supermax

Will Smith has signed on to star in the upcoming action thriller "Supermax" directed by David Gordon Green ("Halloween" reboot sequel trilogy) from a script by David Weil & David J. Rosen ("Hunters", "Invasion"). Amazon MGM Studios acquired the film in a deal estimated at around $70 million. The film will only be released via streaming, not theatrically. Production is set to begin mid-August.

The film's plot follows two FBI agents investigating a murder in the world's most secure prison. Additional casting is underway. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman are producing alongside Smith and Adam Fishbach via Westbrook. CAA Media Finance brokered the deal.

Weil and Rosen will also executive produce alongside associate producer Natalie Laine Williams. Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman, President of Film Alexandra Loewy, COO Thom Zadra, and SVP Spencer Ela are attached as executive producers.

Smith's company Westbrook posted the following message on Instagram: "Huge announcement today. We are thrilled to be teaming up with director David Gordon Green & our partners at @amazonmgmstudios @miramax and The Picture company to bring this incredible film to life"

Slow Horses Season 5 Trailers Clip Featurette Images Posters

The fifth season of the British spy thriller series "Slow Horses" has premiered on September 24, 2025 on Apple TV+. The new season is based on Mick Herron's novel "London Rules". Created by Will Smith ("Veep", "The Thick of It"). The show stars Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Aimee-Ffion Edwards and Christopher Chung. The series has already been renewed for a sixth and seventh season based on the novels "Joe Country" and "Slough House", respectively

Will Smith to Star in Sci-Fi Thriller RESISTOR From Sony Pictures

Will Smith is attached to star in Sony's upcoming sci-fi thriller "Resistor", which is based on the 2014 book "Influx" by bestselling author Daniel Suarez. The first draft of the script was written by Zak Olkewicz ("Bullet Train"), and the latest draft was penned by Eric Warren Singer ("Top Gun: Maverick"). No director is currently attached.

Plot details have not been revealed, but the novel follows physicist Jon Grady and his team who have discovered a device that can reflect gravity — a triumph that will revolutionize the field of physics and change the future. But instead of acclaim, Grady's lab is locked down by a covert organization known as the Bureau of Technology Control whose mission it to suppress the truth of sudden technological progress and prevent the social upheaval it would trigger. Because the future is already here, and its rewards are only for a select few. When Grady refuses to join the BTC, he's thrown into a nightmarish high-tech prison housing other doomed rebel intellects. Now, as the only hope to usher humanity out of its artificial dark age, Grady and his fellow prisoners must try to expose the secrets of an unimaginable enemy — one that wields a technological advantage half a century in the making.

The film will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and Tony Shaw of Escape Artists, which has been developing the project for some time along with Smith and Jon Mone through Westbrook. Heather Washington is executive producing, and Dave Wilson is a producer. The film is not expected to be Smith's next project.

Bad Boys Ride Or Die New Trailer

Today we have new trailers for:
  • The sequel "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The film is directed by Adil & Bilall ("Bad Boys for Life").
  • Amazon's comedy "You're Cordially Invited" starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. The film is written and directed by Nicholas Stoller ("Neighbors", "The Five-Year Engagement").
  • The Wizard of Oz prequel musical "Wicked" directed by Jon M. Chu ("Crazy Rich Asians"), and starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
  • Netflix's Brazilian sci-fi sports drama "Bionic" starring Jessica Cores ("Invisible City").
  • The Netflix original film "Ultraman: Rising", a new CG-animated action adventure movie based on theclassic Japanese "Ultraman" franchise. The film is directed by Shannon Tindle ("Kubo and the Two Strings").
  • The coming-of-age drama "Didi" starring Izaac Wang ("Good Boys"). The film marks the feature film debut of Sean Wang, and received the Special Jury and Audience Award at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Will Smith Picture

Two years after "The Slap Heard Around The World" (TM), Oscar winner Will Smith is set to tackle his first new project. He has signed up to star in the lead role of the action thriller "Sugar Bandits" based on the Chuck Hogan book "Devils in Exile". Hogan is best know for the writing the script for "The Town" and "The Strain".

The thriller centres on an Iraq War veteran who teams up with a crew of fellow vets to target the drug trade in Boston. The film was first announced back in 2013 with Universal developing the feature.

AGC International and CAA Media Finance represent the film's worldwide distribution rights and will introduce the film to buyers at the upcoming EFM. Smith and Jon Mone will produce through Westbrook Studios with Ryan Shimazaki overseeing; Stuart Ford will produce for AGC Studios, which is fully financing the film; and Richard Abate ("13 Hours", "From Scratch") will produce for 3 Arts Entertainment.

Smith also stars in the fourth "Bad Boys" movie which is currently in production, and "I Am Legend" sequel.

Emancipation 2022 Movie Trailers Featurette Images Poster

"Emancipation" is a historical action drama directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Traning Day", "Tears of the Sun") from a script by William N. Collage loosely based on the real-life story of a former slave, and the photographs of his bare back, heavily scourged from an overseer's whippings, that were published worldwide in 1863, giving the abolitionist movement proof of the cruelty of American slavery.

The film stars Will Smith, Ben Foster, Steven Ogg, Charmaine Bingwa, Gilbert Owuor, Ronnie Gene Blevins and Aaron Moten.

"Emancipation" opened in select theaters on December 2, 2022, and was released via Apple TV+ on December 9, 2022.

Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan Team Up for I AM LEGEND sequel

Warner Bros is developing an "I Am Legend" sequel with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan ("Black Panther", "Creed"). Both are set to star and produce. The sequel's script is penned by Akiva Goldsman, who also adapted Richard Matheson's 1954 novel of the same name for the 2007 film. The idea for this project originated as far back as 2012.

Since the film is still in development there are no details about the plot. No director is attached as of yet. The original film was directed by Francis Lawrence ("Constantine", "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire") and it starred Smith as the sole survivor of a plague that wiped out most of humanity and transformed the rest into monsters. The post-apocalyptic thriller grossed over $585 million worldwide.

Smith recently finished work on the thriller "Emancipation" directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day"), which has been sold to Apple TV+ for $120 million.

Jordan will make his feature directorial debut with the sequel "Creed III", in which he also stars. The film will open in theaters on November 23rd.

SAG Awards 2022 Winners: The Complete List

The 28th annual SAG Awards announced its winners on Sunday. The big winner was Apple's indie drama "CODA", which won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Jessica Chastain won Female Actor in a Leading Role, while Will Smith took home the prize for Male Actor. In the television categories, the winners include "Succession" and "Ted Lasso".

The show is a dramatic reboot of the 1990s sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", and also based on Cooper's short fan film of the same name. The cast features Jabari Banks, Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones. "Bel-Air" premiered on February 13, 2022 on Peacock.

Will Smith, Kevin Hart to Star in PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES Remake
Will Smith and Kevin Hart will star in and produce a remake of the classic 1987 comedy "Planes, Trains & Automobiles", which was directed by John Hughes and starred Steve Martin and John Candy.

In the original film, Martin and Candy played a mismatched pair of businessmen forced to become travel partners as they struggle to get home to loved ones for Thanksgiving after their flights are canceled.

The remake is penned by Aeysha Carr, whose TV credits include "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Rel", and it will be a modern update of the classic film with Smith and Hart playing the unlikely buddies.

Hart and Smith will produce alongside Jon Mone and Bran Smiley.

Hart can next be seen in the drama "Fatherhood", which will be released in April 2021. Smith will next be seen in the Warner Bros. sports drama "King Richard" in which he stars as the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams.
