Gal Gadot to Play Wonder Woman in "Superman Vs. Batman"
Zack Snyder's
"Man of Steel" sequel
"Superman Vs. Batman" begins filming in February, so the casting process should be almost complete. The most recent news to surface from the epic production is that Wonder Woman will be featured in the movie and that she will be played by
Gal Gadot (
"Fast & Furious 6"). Snyder had this to say about Gadot's casting:
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."
This could be the first step that Warner Bros. is taking towards making their own Marvel-like cinematic universe, specifically, the long-in-developement
"Justice League" movie. Other reports mention that
Jason Momoa (
"Game of Thrones") may be joining the sequel's cast and some say that he might be playing the film's villain, but nobody is 100% sure at this point.
New Director for "WORLD WAR Z" Sequel
"World War Z" was a big hit despite its troubled production, so Paramount immediately green-lit the sequel. After
Marc Forster decided not to stay on for the sequel, the studio scrambled to find a new helmer for the zombie movie. And now, they've found their man.
Juan Antonio Bayona has been chosen for the job. Bayona is known for the true story drama
"The Impossible" and the 2007 horror
"The Orphanage". The sequel still has a long way to go before being ready to shoot. New writers must be found and the script must focus on a different plot than the one that the filmmakers initially intended.
"World War Z" had a completely different and sequel-ready ending which was scrapped, so whoever the new writers will be, they'll have to take the film into a new direction.
"TERMINATOR" Reboot Gets Title
It's been some time since we've heard anything about the new
"Terminator" movie. The new movie will not be a sequel, but a reboot, it will be directed by
Alan Taylor (
"Thor: The Dark World") and
Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise the Terminator role, either a really old one, or a CGI-enhanced version, that part's not entirely clear. Now, some new details have surfaced. Firstly, the reboot will be titled
"Terminator: Genesis", which sort of makes sense for a reboot which supposedly approaches the story from a different angle than the previous movies. Secondly, it was announced that actresses
Emilia Clarke (
"Game of Thrones") and
Brie Larson (
"Short Term 12") are in the running for the role of Sarah Connor. The release date for
"Terminator: Genesis" is July 1, 2015.
Jerry Bruckheimer Moves Forward with "BAD BOYS 3" and "BEVERLY HILLS COP 4"
And here's a sequel you probably didn't think about lately.
"Bad Boys 3" is moving forward. It was rumored some months ago that a third sequel to the action comedy series is being considered, but now there are reports which indicate that Sony is in talks with screenwriter
David Guggenheim (
"Safe House") to write the screenplay.
Jerry Bruckheimer will return as producer, but
Michael Bay doesn't seem to be involved in the sequel at this point. Bay directed the first two films. And no official announcement was made regarding
Will Smith and
Martin Lawrence reuniting for the project. In other
Jerry Bruckheimer news, the producer has closed a deal with Paramount to produce
"Beverly Hills Cop 4" which will be directed by
Brett Ratner and will once again star
Eddie Murphy.
"JACK REACHER" Sequel Moving Forward
Paramount Pictures is moving forward with the
"Jack Reacher" sequel, despite the modest success of
Christopher McQuarrie's movie which grossed $218 million worldwide.
Tom Cruise will reprise the lead role and the sequel will be based on
Lee Child's 2013 novel
"Never Go Back". In the new book, Reacher is heading back to his old military base in Virginia to meet an old flame. The woman is now a commanding officer and Reacher finds out that she has been arrested, which prompts another one of Reacher's unorthodox investigations. Here is the book's synopsis from Amazon.com:
