Imogen Poots ("Need for Speed", "All of You") and John Reynolds ("Search Party", "Oh, Hi!") are set to lead the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series "Sex Criminals", which is based on the comic book of the same name published by American company Image Comics, written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Chip Zdarsky. The series received an eight-episode order in January.
Here is the official synopsis: "Suze (Poots) is a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon (Reynolds)...who has the same gift. And so they do what any other sex having, time stopping couple would do: they rob banks".
Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon, and Tze Chun are co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers. Nanjiani will also appear in the series in an undisclosed role. Gordon and Nanjiani are executive producing via Winter Coat Films along with Dani Melia. Fraction and Zdarsky executive produce alongside Dani Gorin and Louie Hayes of LuckyChap. Amazon MGM Studios and LuckyChap have an ongoing first-look deal.
