"Scream" and "Five Nights at Freddy's" star Matthew Lillard has joined the cast of James Gunn's sequel "Superman: Man Of Tomorrow". The DC Studios movie will be produced, directed and written by Gunn.
It is unknown who Lillard will be playing in the movie. David Corenswet is back as the Man of Steel alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathon Fillion as Guy Gardner and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. The cast will also include Adria Arjona as Maxima and Aaron Pierre in an unspecified role.
"Superman: Man Of Tomorrow" is currently in production and will be released in theaters on July 9, 2027. The first film was released last year and grossed $618.7 million worldwide, becoming the first DC movie to cross the $300 million mark at the domestic box office since 2022's "The Batman".
Lillard can next be seen in A24's "Carrie" miniseries developed by Mike Flanagan based on Stephen King's 1974 novel of the same name.
