Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Demi Moore ("Landman") has signed on to join the cast of Amazon MGM's upcoming thriller "Tyrant" from writer/director David Weil ("Hunters"), whose script is based on a story he conceived with Cody Behan. The film will shoot in Los Angeles, having received a California Film Tax Credit, Filming is expected to begin in a few weeks.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, the film is said to be a high-stakes thriller set within New York City’s elite fine dining scene. The cast also features Charlize Theron and Julia Garner.
The Picture Company partners Alex Heineman & Andrew Rona are producing alongside Theron and her Secret Menu partners Beth Kono & A.J. Dix. Weil also produces alongside Natalie Laine Williams. Stan Wlodkowski is on board as an executive producer.
Moore can next be seen starring alongside Keke Palmer and Naomi Ackie in Neon's crime comedy "I Love Boosters" from writer/director Boots Riley. The film already premiered at SXSW.
