David Jonsson Joins A24's PLEASE From BABYGIRL Director Halina Reijn
"Alien: Romulus" and "The Long Walk" star David Jonsson has joined the cast of A24's upcoming film "Please" written and directed by Halina Reijn ("Babygirl", "Bodies Bodies Bodies"). Jonsson won the BAFTA Rising Star award in 2025 for his breakout turns in "Rye Lane" and "Alien: Romulus".

Plot details are unknown at this time, but it has been described as a "period female drama" and a continuation of the edgy romance genre explored in "Babygirl". The cast also includes Gracie Abrams, who is making her acting debut, Connor Storrie ("Heated Rivalry") and Tom Burke ("Black Bag").

The film will be produced by David Hinojosa. This is his third collaboration with Reijn, who is producing through her MAN UP Film banner. A24 is producing and financing. Zach Nutman will executive produce. "Please" is expected to shoot this year.

Jonsson can next be seen in Colman Domingo's directorial debut "Scandalous", playing Sammy Davis Jr. opposite Sydney Sweeney as Kim Novak. He is also set to reteam with his "The Long Walk" co-star Cooper Hoffman in Plan B's "Chaperones", and will star as the lead in Frank Ocean's untitled debut feature.
