MAGAZINE DREAMS (2025) - Trailer, Clips, Images and Poster

"Magazine Dreams" is a drama written and directed by Elijah Bynum ("Hot Summer Nights").

The film tells the story of an amateur bodybuilder (Jonathan Majors) who battles both the limits of his physical body and his own inner demons to gain recognition. The cast also includes Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Harrison Page, Harriet Sansom Harris and Mike O'Hearn.

The film opened in theaters on March 21, 2025.

Jonathan Majors Lands First Role Since Domestic Assault Conviction

Jonathan Majors ("Creed III", "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania") was convicted in 2023 of domestic assault and Disney/Marvel Studios severed ties with the actor who was going to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe's next major villain, Kang the Conqueror. Majors was sentenced in April to one year of domestic violence counseling after he was found guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend.

Now, the actor has landed his first film role in the indie revenge thriller "Merciless". The film will be directed by Martin Villeneuve, the younger brother of acclaimed filmmaker Denis Villeneuve ("Dune").

The screenplay is penned by Frank Hannah, and it follows a CIA investigator who goes to troubling lengths after the woman he loves is overpowered by sinister forces. It's expected to be filmed in Saskatchewan in late fall.

As part of his sentencing, Majors must complete a 52-week in-person program in Los Angeles, so, it's unclear how that will work with the movie's shooting schedule.

"Merciless" is being developed at Sentient by producer Christopher Tuffin, who backed "Sound of Freedom", and he plans to start a new media venture that "refuses to let the court of public opinion and selective prosecution undermine great art and artists".

Tuffin will produce alongside Kevin Townsend and Kevin DeWalt. Amanda Delaplaine, Chris Ochs, Andrew Bates and Ben DeWalt will executive produce.

Idris Elba Joins All-Black Western THE HARDER THEY FALL From Producer Jay-Z

Idris Elba ("Hobbs & Shaw", "Thor") has joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming western "The Harder They Fall". The film will be directed by British singer-songwriter Jeymes Samuel also known as The Bullitts, in his feature film directorial debut, and it will feature an all-Black cast.

"The Last Black Man In San Fransisco" actor Jonathan Majors will star as outlaw Nat Love, who discovers that the man (Elba) who killed his parents two decades ago is being released from prison. He decides to reunite with his gang to track his enemy down and seek revenge.

Samuel will also produce alongside Jay-Z, who will provide original music for the film along with the helmer. The two previously collaborated on "The Great Gatsby". James Lassiter and Lawrence Bender are also on board to produce. Samuel and Boaz Yakin ("Remember the Titans") penned the script.

Elba is also set to star in the Western drama "Concrete Cowboys" about black horse riding communities in Philadelphia, and can be seen next month in the highly anticipated musical "Cats". He is currently filming James Gunn's "Suicide Squad" sequel.
