CAPTIVE STATE Trailers, Clips, Featurette, Images and Posters

"Captive State" is a sci-fi thriller co-written and directed by Rupert Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes"). The film is set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, and it follows the lives on both sides of the conflict - the collaborators and dissidents. The cast features Ashton Sanders, John Goodman, Vera Farmiga, Machine Gun Kelly, Alan Ruck, Madeline Brewer, Kevin J. O'Connor and D.B. Sweeney.

THE GAMBLER Full-Length Trailer Takes a Page from Martin Scorsese

A new full-length trailer for "The Gambler" has been released and it emulates the vibe of a Martin Scorsese flick quite well. The film is a remake of a 1974 drama and it stars Mark Wahlberg as a literature professor with a gambling problem who is forced play a dangerous game in order to free himself of his debts and earn a second chance. Rupert Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes") directs from a script by William Monahan ("The Departed"), and Brie Larson, Jessica Lange, John Goodman and Michael K. Williams also star.

"The Gambler" opens in theaters on January 2, 2015.

THE GAMBLER Red-Band Trailer and Poster: Mark Wahlberg Goes Deeper Underground

The first trailer and poster for the thriller "The Gambler" have been released. A remake of the 1974 drama of the same name, the film stars Mark Wahlberg as a literature professor with a gambling problem who is forced to immerse himself in an illicit, underground world, taking the ultimate risk for a second chance. Directed by Rupert Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes") from a script by William Monahan ("The Departed"), the film also stars Brie Larson, Jessica Lange, John Goodman and Michael K. Williams.

"The Gambler" opens in theaters on January 2, 2015.

CASTING NEWS: Djimon Hounsou, Jessica Brown Findlay, Mark Wahlberg, Ellen Page

Djimon Hounsou ("Blood Diamond") has signed on to star in James Wan's sequel "Fast & Furious 7". No plot details have been released so far and Hounsou's role is unknown. The casting process is still underway and the new additions include Ronda Rousey, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham and Tony Jaa. "Fast & Furious 7" opens in theaters on July 11, 2014.

Jessica Brown Findlay ("Downton Abbey") has joined the cast of Paul McGuigan's Frankenstein film. Findlay's role has not been disclosed, but the film also stars Daniel Radcliffe as Igor and James McAvoy as Victor Von Frankenstein. Max Landis ("Chronicle") penned the script. Fans of Mary Shelley shouldn't get their hopes up, because this is a modern and much different version from the gothic horror story you remember.

Director Rupert Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes") and Mark Wahlberg ("2 Guns") may team up for the Paramount remake of the 1974 film "The Gambler". The film was previously intended for Martin Scorsese to direct with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role. Now Wyatt has been brough on board to direct with Wahlberg in the lead. The script is written by William Monahan ("The Departed") and has been described as a "crime drama [that] follows a literature professor whose gambling addiction lands him in hot water with his girlfriend, his mother and some unsavory gangsters."

Ellen Page is in negotiations to star in the comic book adaptation "Queen & Country". Page will play Tara Chace, "a British Intelligence agent who tries to stop an international terrorist plot after her identity is compromised and as her personal demons spiral out of control." 20th Century Fox is apparently aiming to start up a potential franchise. Ellen Page has recently contributed her voice and motion-capture for the video game "Beyond" and can be seen in "Touchy Feely" starring Scoot McNairy and Rosemarie DeWitt.
