"Firestarter" is a Blumhouse sci-fi horror film directed by Keith Thomas ("The Vigil") from a script by Scott Teems ("Halloween Kills") based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The cast features Zac Efron, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Sydney Lemmon, Kurtwood Smith, John Beasley, Michael Greyeyes and Gloria Reuben. On May 13, 2022, the film was released simultaneously in theaters and through streaming on Peacock.

Zac Efron Set to Star in THREE MEN AND A BABY Remake

Zac Efron is set to star in Disney's upcoming remake of the 1987 comedy "Three Men and a Baby", which in turn was a remake of the French film "Three Men". The original film starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson, and it was directed by Leonard Nimoy.

The 1980s film followed three New York bachelors living a carefree lifestyle and sharing an apartment, who find themselves forced to take care of a baby left by one of the guys' girlfriends. At the time, it became the first live-action Disney movie to gross $100 million. A sequel titled "Three Men and a Little Lady" was released in 1990, but wasn't as well received.

The remake's script is penned by Will Reichel ("Hot Air"), and it will be produced by Gordon Gray. The search for a director is underway. The remake will be released via Disney+.

This marks a return to Disney for Efron, whose rise to stardom was due to his breakout turns in the "High School Musical" movies between 2006 and 2008. He can currently be seen in the documentary series "Down to Earth", which he also executive produced, that was released on Netflix in July.

Zac Efron Set to Lead John McAfee Movie KING OF THE JUNGLE

Zac Efron ("The Greatest Showman", "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile") is set to replace Seth Rogen as the lead in the indie comedy "King of the Jungle". The film is directed by "Crazy, Stupid, Love." filmmakers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa from a script by Emmy-winning duo Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski ("Dolemite is My Name").

Based on an article by Joshua Davis published in Wired magazine, the film chronicles the wild true story of rogue tech magnate John McAfee, creator of the McAfee Antivirus software, who cashed-in his fortune, left civilization and moved to the jungle in Belize, where he set up a Colonel Kurtz-like compound of guns, sex and madness.

Efron stars as Wired journalist Ari Furman, who arrives in Belize to interview McAfee, but a run-of-the-mill assignment turns into a nightmare as Furman finds himself pulled into McAfee’s escalating paranoia, slippery reality and murder. Michael Keaton was attached to star as McAfee, but he has also departed the project, and casting is currently underway for the role. Filming is set to begin early 2020.

Zac Efron can also be heard in the upcoming CG-animated Scooby-Doo movie "Scoob", in which he voices the character Fred Jones.

"Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" is a crime biopic directed by documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger ("Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes") from a script by Michael Werwiwe ("Lost Girls") based on the memoir "The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy" by Elizabeth Kendall.

The film tells the story of serial killer Ted Bundy (Zac Efron) through the point of view of his unsuspecting girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), who for years refused to acknowledge that her boyfriend was a guilty of committing several heinous crimes against women. The film also stars Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, Jeffrey Donovan, Angela Sarafyan, Dylan Baker, Jim Parsons, Brian Gerarghty and Haley Joel Osment.

"Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival and was released on May 3 by Netflix in the U.S. and Sky Cinema in the U.K.

"The Greatest Showman" is a musical drama directed by Michael Gracey from a script written by Jenny Bicks (producer on "Divorce" and "Sex and the City") and Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls"). The film chronicles the creation of P.T. Barnum's Barnum & Bailey Circus and it stars Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Keala Settle, Cameron Seely, Eric Anderson and Skylar Dunn.

The film features original songs written by Oscar-winning lyricists Benj Pasek & Justin Paul ("La La Land"). The song "This is Me" won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and is nominated in the same category at the 90th Academy Awards.

The film had many difficulties during its production, which went on for seven years. This was Michael Gracey's directorial debut. Gracey has been known mostly for music videos and commercials. In December 2017 it was reported that frequent Jackman collaborator James Mangold ("Logan") was brought in to oversee the film's reshoots and post-production as the studios were concerned with Gracey's lack of experience in handling a big budget production.

"The Greatest Showman" opened in theaters on December 20, 2017 and received mixed reviews from critics. While the cast and production values received ample praise, the film was overall considered too shallow.

While not a huge critical hit, the film found unexpected success at the box-office after initially opening with just $8.8 million. In its second weekend the film registered a 76.3% increase, the largest weekend-to-weekend increase ever for a film playing in over 3,000 theaters. Since then it has continued to perform well, dropping 11% and 14% in the next two weeks. The film has currently grossed $116 million domestically and another $120.1 million overseas against an $84 million budget.

The 2017 R-rated "Baywatch" reboot directed by Seth Gordon ("Horrible Bosses") follows the adventures of Lt. Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne Johnson), a devoted Florida lifeguard, who must find a way to get along with Matt Brody (Zac Efron), a brash recruit and former Olympic swimmer, as a local criminal conspiracy threatens the future of the Bay.

The film also stars Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, Priyanka Chopra, Rob Huebel, Amin Joseph, Hannibal Buress and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Veteran "Baywatch" series stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson make cameos in the film as The Mentor and Casey Jean Parker, the mother of C.J. Parker (Rohrbach).

"Baywatch" opened in theaters on May 26th, 2017 and received generally negative reviews from critics. The film is expected to gross around $40 million over the weekend, while studio projections estimate a more modest $30 million over the five day weekend.

First Trailer for BAYWATCH Starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Effron and Alexandra Daddario

Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for next year's "Baywatch" reboot. The film is directed by Seth Gordon ("Horrible Bosses"), and from this first look, the filmmakers are going for a "21 Jump Street" vibe, which I think is just perfect. Nobody would take a "Baywatch" movie seriously, if it wasn't just a little self-aware.

The plot follows the efforts of Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne Johnson), a devoted lifeguard, and his new recruit, the hotheaded Matt Brody (Zac Efron), to thwart a criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay. They are joined by Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, Hannibal Buress and Priyanka Chopra. TV series alums David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson will also make an appearance.

"Baywatch" opens in theaters on May 26, 2017.
