New on DVD and Blu-ray: May 23, 2017

The new DVD and Blu-ray releases for the week of May 23rd, 2017 include the R-rated comic book adaptation "Logan" featuring Hugh Jackman in his last outing as Wolverine, Jordan Peele's directorial debut and highly acclaimed horror film "Get Out", Matt Damon's Chinese adventure "The Great Wall, the Oscar-nominated animated film "My Life As a Zucchini", the Palme d'Or winner "Dheepan", the all-female anthology horror film "XX" and the documentary "I Am Heath Ledger". Also out now on home video is the sixth season of the British TV series "Call the Midwife".

Some cult classics have been released on Blu-ray this week, including the Japanese films "Cops Vs Thugs" and "Wolf Guy", as well as the 3D restoration of the 1950s musical "Those Redheads From Seattle" and the six-disc limited edition "The Jacques Rivette Collection".

ROCK DOG Trailers, Clips, Images and Posters

Based on the Chinese graphic novel "Tibetan Rock Dog" by Zheng Jun, the 3D computer-animated film "Rock Dog" tells the story of Bodi (Luke Wilson), a young Tibetan Mastiff with a love for rock music, who leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician. His departure, however, has completely unexpected consequences.

The film's colorful characters are also voiced by Eddie Izzard, J.K. Simmons, Lewis Black, Kenan Thompson, Mae Whitman, Jorge Garcia, Matt Dillon and Sam Elliott.

"Rock Dog" made its U.S. debut on February 24. The film received mixed reviews and only grossed $4.1 million in its opening weekend. It was a flop in China, as well, earning only $5.7 million. The film's budget is estimated at $60 million.

Weekend Box-Office: GET OUT Scares Off Competition

The Oscars weekend was pretty light on major new releases, which allowed Blumhouse's new horror film "Get Out" to explode and dominate the box-office, while fellow new arrivals "Rock Dog" and "Collide" failed to make the Top 10.
