Liam Neeson and director Jaume Collet-Serra join forces once again for the action thriller "The Commuter". This is their fourth collaboration, following "Unknown" (2011), "Non-Stop" (2014), and "Run All Night" (2015).

Neeson stars as Michael MacCauley, an insurance salesman and former NYPD detective, whose daily commute home is disrupted by a criminal conspiracy that forces him to play a deadly game with life and death stakes for himself and his fellow passengers.

The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Jonathan Banks, Elizabeth McGovern and Sam Neill.

"The Commuter" opened in theaters on January 12th, 2018 and received mixed reviews from critics. It opened in third place at the box-office, grossing $13.4 million over the weekend.

Weekend Box-Office: JUMANJI Still Leads Ahead of Four New Releases Over MLK Weekend

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" is the unexpected hit of 2017 that continues to impress at the box-office even after a month in theaters. Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg's "The Post" expanded nationwide and received a decent boost, and the Liam Neeson thriller "The Commuter" overperformed. The other two new releases, "Paddington 2" and "Proud Mary" stumbled.

This week in theaters we have the first wave of significant new wide releases. There's the sequel "Paddington 2", which is currently 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the thriller "The Commuter" starring Liam Neeson and the actioner "Proud Mary" starring Taraji P. Henson.
