New on DVD and Blu-ray: March 28, 2017

New on DVD and Blu-ray on the week of March 28, 2017, we have the Harry Potter spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", Martin Scorsese's intense meditation on faith "Silence", the Boston Marathon bombing movie "Patriots Day" starring Mark Wahlberg, the R-rated comedy "Why Him?" starring Bryan Cranston and James Franco, the fantasy drama "A Monster Calls", the dramedy "20th Century Women" starring Annette Bening and more.

"Fast & Furious" fans should check out Universal's new "Ultimate Ride" collection featuring all seven films available on both Blu-ray and DVD.

BBC has also released their latest documentary series "Planet Earth 2" on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD.

In the classics department, we have new Blu-ray releases for the horror films "Witchtrap" and "Venom", as well as a brand new collection of "Wishmaster" movies. Other classic films released on Blu-ray/DVD include the drama "The Wanderers, "What's the Matter With Helen?", "Another Man's Poison" starring Better Davis and "Dakota" starring John Wayne

Box-Office: ROGUE ONE Tops New Years Weekend

"Rogue One" topped the New Years weekend box-office, ending a record year for Disney. While no other wide releases opened over the weekend, most movies felt a boost during the final days of 2016.

Christmas Weekend Box-Office: ROGUE ONE Still Strong While ASSASSIN'S CREED and PASSENGERS Disappoint

"Rogue One" is still the leading film at the box-office over the holiday weekend, holding back no less than four new wide releases, of which only the animated musical film "Sing" managed to score decent numbers, while "Passengers", "Why Him?" and "Assassin's Creed" struggled.

With Christmas almost upon us, we have a decent amount of wide releases to choose from. For the gamers out there, we have the video game adaptation "Assassin's Creed". For those looking for sci-fi, or romance, or why not both, we have "Passengers" starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. If you have kids, you can take them to see "Sing", the latest animated feature from Illumination, the studio that brought us "The Secret Life of Pets". And if you're just looking for a comedy, you can give the raunchy "Why Him?" a try. Who wouldn't want to watch Bryan Cranston star as an overprotective father whose daughter is about to marry a wildly inappropriate James Franco ?

New WHY HIM ? Clips Images and Posters

"Why Him?" is a new comedy from writer/director John Hamburg ("I Love You, Man") that stars Bryan Cranston as an overprotective father who meets his worst nightmare, his daughter's boyfriend and prospective fiancé (James Franco), a wildly inappropriate Silicon Valley billionaire.

The film also stars Zoey Deutch, Megan Mullally, Keegan-Michael Key and Cedric the Entertainer.

"Why Him?" opens in theaters on December 23rd.

Have you ever dreamed about Bryan Cranston and James Franco facing off in a comedy ? Well, if you did, your dreams are starting to come true. The raunchy comedy "Why Him" stars Cranston as an overprotective dad who discovers that his daugther's boyfriend is a well-meaning but socially awkward Silicon Valley billionaire (Franco).

Directed by John Hamburg ("I Love You, Man"), the film also stars Zoey Deutch, Megan Mullaly, Keegan-Michael Key and Adam Devine.

"Why Him" opens in theaters on December 25th.
