Ajay Devgn to Star in Action Film CHAUHAAN

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn ("RRR") has signed on to lead the action film "Chauhaan" from Jio Studios and Colour Yellow. The film is directed by Neeraj Yadav from a script by Himanshu Sharma, and it will be released in theaters on October 1, 2027. The title announcement was unveiled Thursday on the birth anniversary of Devgn's late father, stunt choreographer and action director Veeru Devgan.

No plot details have been revealed, but according to the filmmakers, it is set in a "gritty and action-packed world". It's produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Rai and Himanshu Sharma under Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions.

Devgn has appeared in over 100 films across a career stretching more than three decades. He made his action debut in 1991 with "Phool Aur Kaante", which was directed by his father, who had built a reputation as one of Bollywood's most sought-after stunt choreographers before becoming an acclaimed filmmaker. Devgn also starred in "Singham", "Golmaal", "Drishyam", "Drishyam 2" and "Maidaan".

Jio Studios, the content arm of Reliance Industries, is one of Indian cinema's most active financiers and is coming off projects like the "Dhurandhar" movies, which are amongst the highest grossing films of Indian cinema.

Colour Yellow Productions, founded by Rai, has produced a range of critically and commercially successful titles including the "Tanu Weds Manu" franchise and "Raanjhanaa".
