Chase Yi Lands Lead Role In New PARANORMAL ACTIVITY Movie
Chase Yi ("Mythic Quest", "A Model Family", "Hacks") is set to lead the new installment in the found-footage horror franchise "Paranormal Activity". The film is produced by Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount Pictures, and will be directed by Canadian filmmaker Ian Tuason ("Undertone").

Plot and character details remain under wraps. The project will move forward as a priority, and the release date has been set for May 21, 2027. The film will be financed and produced jointly by Paramount and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with Paramount handling worldwide distribution.

Franchise creator Oren Peli will produce for Solana Films, with James Wan and Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Michael Clear and Judson Scott will executive produce for Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with Alayna Glasthal overseeing the project for the company. Steven Schneider also executive produces for Room 101, Inc., alongside Dan Slater and Cody Calahan.

"Paranormal Activity" is one of the most lucrative franchises ever created. The first film was developed in 2007 and released in theaters in 2009. It grossed $193 million against a $15,000 budget. The franchise now includes seven installments that have raked in a total of $900 million worldwide. The highest budget in the franchise belongs to "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" (2015), which cost $10 million to produce.
