GREMLINS 3 Release Date Officially Announced

Warner Bros has officially confirmed that "Gremlins 3" is indeed in the works, and that its release date has been set for November 19, 2027. David Zaslav, the CEO and president of Warner Bros. Discovery, made the announcement on Thursday's investor call.

It has also been confirmed that Steven Spielberg is returning to executive produce while Chris Columbus ("Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", "Home Alone") is set to direct and produce. "Final Destination Bloodlines" scribes Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein will co-write the screenplay. No cast or plot details have been revealed.

"Gremlins 3" will be produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario for Amblin Entertainment alongside 26th Street Pictures' Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe.

The original "Gremlins" was directed by Joe Dante from a script by Columbus. It famously led to the creation of the PG-13 rating, and it was a box office hit with $212 million worldwide. The sequel "Gremlins 2: The New Batch" was released in 1990, but only grossed $41 million domestically. Nevertheless, it went on to become a cult classic.

Warner Bros. Pictures' president of development and production Jesse Ehrman said in a statement: "Few titles are as beloved and iconic as 'Gremlins', and we're beyond excited to bring it back for both lifelong fans and a whole new generation. It's a privilege to be working alongside Steven [Spielberg], Chris [Columbus], and the entire creative team, and we look forward to audiences experiencing the next installment of the magic, mayhem, and heart of Gremlins on the big screen in 2027."

THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB (2025) - Trailers, Images and Posters

"The Thursday Murder Club" is a crime comedy directed by Chris Columbus ("Home Alone", "Mrs. Doubtfire", "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone") from a screenplay by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote based on the 2020 novel by Richard Osman.

The cast includes Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Richard E. Grant. The film premiered on August 28, 2025 after opening in select theaters on August 22nd.

GOONIES Sequel Officially In The Works With Steven Spielberg Producing

It's been almost 40 years since "The Goonies" hit theaters back in 1985, and it seems that we're finally getting a sequel. It's all very early stages, of course, so no plot details have been revealed, and no director is attached, but Warner Bros. has hired Potsy Ponciroli ("Old Henry") to write the script.

Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus will return to produce the film with Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario for Amblin Entertainment. Lauren Shuler Donner will executive produce.

The original film was directed by Richard Donner from a script by Columbus based on an original story by Spielberg. It starred Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Ke Huy Quan and Martha Plimpton, and it grossed $125 million worldwide at the box office against a $19 million budget. It has since become a cult classic and was selected to be preserved in the National Registry by the Library of Congress in 2017.

Quan recently talked about a "Goonies" reunion at the premiere of his new film "Love Hurts", where he was joined by his co-star Feldman: "It's one of the most asked questions in my life. I would love for it to happen:". Feldman added "All I can say is, get us all together. Everybody is looking good. Sean's looking good. Josh is looking good. We're all looking good still, and we're all alive. Goonies never say die…There's hope".

David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays & Henry Lloyd-Hughes Join Richard Osman Adaptation THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB

David Tennant ("Doctor Who"), Jonathan Pryce ("The Two Popes"), Naomi Ackie ("Blink Twice"), Daniel Mays ("Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget") and Henry Lloyd-Hughes ("Killing Eve") are set to star in the upcoming Amblin and Netflix movie "The Thursday Murder Club" based on Richard Osman's 2020 novel of the same name.. The film is written and directed by Chris Columbus ("Home Alone", "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone").

The movie follows a group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun, but find themselves caught in a real case. The four members of the club will be played by Helen Mirren (ex-spy Elizabeth), Ben Kinsgley (ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim), Pierce Brosnan (former union activist Ron) and Celia Imrie (ex-nurse Joyce).

Filming begins later this month. Jennifer Todd and Chris Columbus will produce. Executive producers include Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus and Jo Burn.

Osman had this to say about the project: "There's some great names and some more names coming as well. I think this is the greatest British cast assembled since the [Harry Potter] movies."

The film is the latest to be produced as part of Netflix and Amblin's film partnership, which also includes the upcoming "Carry-On" starring Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton.

"The Christmas Chronicles" is a holiday comedy directed by Clay Kaytis ("The Angry Birds Movie") from a script by Matt Lieberman (next year's animated "The Addams Family" movie), and produced by Chris Columbus ("Home Alone", "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone").

The film tells the story of sister and brother, Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis), whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about. Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Oliver Hudson and Tom Kane co-star.

"The Christmas Chronicles" was released by Netflix on November 22, 2018 and received mixed reviews from critics.

New PIXELS Trailer, Clips and Featurettes

Chris Columbus' sci-fi comedy "Pixels" opens today in theaters, so here are a new trailer, three clips and six behind-the-scenes featurettes. Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Kevin James and Peter Dinklage star as a group of 1980s video game champions who become Earth's only hope against alien invaders transformed into classic arcade games which they have misinterpreted as a declaration of war.

Like most Sandler movies this one has also been taking a beating from critics. Although filled with fancy visual effects, the film falls flat in other departments. Most reviewers have taken issue with the lack of witty jokes and the abundance of cliches which add up to a terrible waste of a perfectly good premise.

The film also stars Michelle Monaghan, Jane Krakowski, Ashley Benson, and Brian Cox.

Sony released the first trailer for Chris Columbus' upcoming sci-fi comedy "Pixels". The film stars Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Kevin James and Peter Dinklage as a group of 1980s video game champions who become Earth's only hope against alien invaders transformed into classic arcade games which they have misinterpreted as a declaration of war. The film also stars Michelle Monaghan, Jane Krakowski, Ashley Benson, and Brian Cox.

"Pixels" opens in theaters on July 24th.
