Jean-Louis Chavel (Hopkins), a wealthy French lawyer living quietly under Nazi occupation, is seized in a random police raid and thrown into a Paris jail with 29 other innocent men. Marked for the firing squad, he convinces a poor, dying prisoner to take his place by promising his entire estate to the man’s penniless kin. Once freed, the guilt-ridden Chavel returns to his former home and tries to help the family of the man who died in his stead. As he falls in love with the dead man’s sister, Thérèse (Scott Thomas), a stranger (Jacobi in an Emmy-winning role) calling himself “Chavel” arrives on their doorstep. Co-starring Cyril Cusack (Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming) with first-rate direction by Jack Gold (Who?) and photography by Alan Hume (Runaway Train), The Tenth Man is a stylish, powerfully acted thriller from one of the twentieth century’s most acclaimed authors.

But Church doesn't have a clue when he's hired to help a beautiful amnesia victim (Thompson) tormented by blood-curdling nightmares. "Tolkien" is a biopic directed by Dome Karukoski ("Heart of a Lion") from a script by David Gleeson ("Don't Go") and Stephen Beresford ("Pride"). The film chronicles the early life of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" author J.R.R. Tolkien, played by Nicholas Hoult. Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Derek Jacobi, Anthony Boyle and Patrick Gibson co-star.

"Tolkien" is the first Disney release of a Fox Searchlight film, after the former acquired 20th Century Fox on March 20, 2019. The film received a semi-wide release (1,495 theaters) on March 20, 2019, after it was initially set to open only in select theaters. Effie Gray Movie Clips

The period drama "Effie Gray" opens today in theaters, and we have four new clips from the movie. Based on a true story, the film presents the scandalous love triangle between Victorian art critic John Ruskin (Greg Wise), his teenage bride Effie Gray (Dakota Fanning), and Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais (Tom Sturridge). The critical reception has been generally mixed with most praising the cast, even though they felt the movie's narrative fails to engross and ultimately falls flat. But, I suppose it's worth a watch if you're a fan of period dramas. Directed by Richard Laxton ("Burton and Taylor") and written by Emma Thompson, the film also stars Robbie Coltrane, Claudia Cardinale, James Fox, Julie Walters, Derek Jacobi and David Suchet.
