Star Wars The Force Awakens New TV Spots and Soundtrack Tracklist

Are you sick and tired of all those "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" TV spots that Disney keeps dishing out ? Too bad. The studio has released three more, one of them extended, that you can pick apart for those one or two bits of new footage. The more interesting news, however, is that they have also released the tracklist for the official soundtrack composed by John Williams, which you can check out after the jump, along with the cover art. In other Star Wars-related news, "The Force Awakens" was rated PG-13 by the MPAA for the all-ecompassing "sci-fi action violence".

Abrams ("Star Trek"), the film stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars The Force Awakens Clip and Empire Magazine Covers

Today we have a batch of Empire magazine covers and a first clip for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

The covers feature the sequel's main players: Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mahyew), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). Empire magazine also released a new image featuring Christie's Phasma trying to look like a badass.

The clip is a brief action scene from the trailers in which Ridley and Boyega run for their lives through the desert. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's nice to see an actual clip from the movie after all those TV spots. It also gives us a nice preview of John Williams' score. Stay tuned for more in the next weeks.

Also, check out J.J. Abrams' "Force for Change" video after the jump. Even he's wondering "where's Mark Hamill ?".

Directed by J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek"), the film also stars Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.

New Star Wars The Force Awakens TV Spot and IMAX Poster

With December so close, Disney is amping up the marketing campaign for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". Today we have a new TV spot which features some interesting new footage, a Disney XD Behind-the-Scenes Promo, and an IMAX poster.

Among all these new releases, we also have some new information about the film. First of all, the running time has been announced and it's 2 hours and 15 minutes, pretty much on par with other installments in both the original and prequel trilogy. Secondly, J.J. Abrams confirmed that the Starkiller Base featured briefly in the marketing material is indeed a new Death Star, except that it's more powerful and different from the ones in the original trilogy. If you ask me, though, a Death Star is a Death Star, no matter how fancy you superlaser is. They could at least work on those defenses so maybe it won't be so easy to destroy it. You know what they say, third time's the charm. Abrams also revealed that Kylo Ren's mask is a nod to Vader's mask. That, I think, was rather obvious.

Directed by J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek"), the film stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.

star-wars-force-awakens-entertainment-weekly-covers-images

Entertainment Weekly is joining the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" marketing campaign frenzy with four new covers and twenty-three images. The new photos mostly revolve around scenes that we've already seen in the trailers, but they're still cool to look at. Disney is keeping all things plot-related locked up as tightly as possible, so much so that the film will not be screened in advance for critics to avoid spoiling any surprises. This includes the New York Film Critics Circle, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and the Screen Actors Guild, effectively leaving the film out of the upcoming awards season.

Directed by J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek") The film stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars The Force Awakens Final Trailer and Poster

The final trailer and poster for J.J. Abrams "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" have been released online, and they are pure, unadultered awesomeness. Sweeping starship battles, lightsabers glaring in the dark, old themes of good versus evil, that classic John Williams score, and a host of familiar characters will all certainly please fans of the franchise and make the wait until December even more difficult. Even the film's stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega were in awe, as you can see from their Instagram reactions embedded after the jump.

The film has also just broken the ticket pre-sale record previously held by the first "The Hunger Games". "The Force Awakens" has sold eight times as many tickets as that movie and theaters are continually adding new show times on Fandango to meet the phenomenal demand. Also, several sites, including Fandango, experienced outages due to the record-breaking traffic.

The film stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.

UPDATE: Added Music-only Trailer Edit.

New Star Wars The Force Awakens Images from Entertainment Weekly

So, no new trailer yet for "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens", but Entertainment Weekly did manage to provide a nice surprise in the form of 9 new images from the film. Pretty much every new character is shown, including the mysterious Sith Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the two beloved droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. Besides Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), which we've already seen in previous images, EW provides a first look at Domhnall Gleeson's character General Hux, the leader of The First Order.

Director J.J. Abrams offered some more details regarding Kylo Ren in an interview:
"The movie explains the origins of the mask and where it’s from, but the design was meant to be a nod to the Vader mask. Ren is well aware of what’s come before, and that’s very much a part of the story of the film. The lightsaber is something that he built himself, and is as dangerous and as fierce and as ragged as the character."
The film also stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.

UPDATED: Added hi-res versions of most of the images.

Star Wars The Force Awakens First TV Spot and New Image

The first TV spot and a new image for "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" have appeared online. The image provides a look at an impressively large gathering of First Order troops, and that same sequence is also briefly shown in the TV spot. The First Order is all that's left of the once mighty Empire and they look ready to take back what they've lost under the leadership of Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). Of course the plot is still a big secret for now and everyone is still waiting for the full trailer which will probably reveal a bit more.

The film also stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars The Force Awakens Vanity Fair Photos Offer new Character Reveals

Yesterday, with the occasion of Star Wars Day, Vanity Fair released some photos from its new issue which focused on J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens". The images offered some interesting character portraits which included Adam Driver's Kylo Ren, Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron. There's also a shot of Lupita Nyong'o wearing motion capture gear which clearly suggests that she will be playing a CGI character. There are no more story details available at this point, leaving everyone eager to speculate as to what Abrams is preparing with this sequel. Needless to say, the hype surrounding this movie is incredibly high.

The film also stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.
