As for the new additions, Amber Heard ("3 Days to Kill"), Elizabeth Banks ("Walk of Shame"), Andie MacDowell ("Groundhog Day"), Jada Pinkett Smith ("Gotham") and Donald Glover ("Community") have joined the cast, though their roles are unknown at this point.

transformers 4 logo

"Transformers 4" will feature an entirely new cast of robots. This bit of information has been released by Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner who talked a bit about their plans to release a new line of Transformer toys. Goldner unveiled a title logo for "Transformers 4" (above) and complained that the toy sales had dropped after "Transformers: Dark of the Moon", supposedly because all three films in the series had featured the same robots, which resulted in poor sales. In short, the new plan is to overhaul the franchise with new robots and a new storyline. Michael Bay is for now locked in as director of the fourth installment with the release date set for 2014.

Grammy-winner Adele has been confirmed as the artist who will perform and probably compose the theme song for the new James Bond film "Skyfall".

The sequel to Zack Snyder's "300" will no longer be called "300: Battle of Artemisia". The new title is "300: Rise of an Empire". The sequel is supposed to be a spin-off, focusing on an Athenian protagonist rising agains Xerxes in a story parallel to that of the original "300". "300: Rise of an Empire" will be directed by Noam Murro and so far the cast includes Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Sullivan Stapleton and Andrew Tiernan. The release date for the sequel is August 2, 2013.

Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin are determined to give us two "Independence Day" sequels. In recent interviews, the duo has commented on the progress of their project and refered to the films as "ID Forever Part One" and "ID Forever Part Two". They also talked about doing the sequels in 3D, although Emmerich is still unsure as to whether or not it should be shot in 3D, or converted in post-production.
"Roland and I sat down and watched the original. It’s a different experience on television! The thing that really hit me about the movie is how much love there is in it: between the characters; that the filmmakers had making it; that the cast had for each other. As we’re approaching a sequel we’re focusing on that aspect of it. Because I think that was really the key as to why it worked for everyone. It was lovable."

After the unexpected success of Steven Soderbergh's "Magic Mike", it seems that a sequel is in the works. While Soderbergh is apparently retiring from filmmaking to turn towards television, Channing Tatum may replace him as director for the sequel. In the meantime, screenwriter and producer Reid Carolin has offered a few sketchy details about the sequel's plot :
"You know, we are talking a lot about it. We have a story, and it is really ridiculous and fun. It’s a road movie sort of thing, where a bunch of strippers get back together. It’s more of a broad comedy. I don’t know whether it will happen or not."

godzilla teaser poster More details about the "Godzilla" remake surface. The film, directed by Gareth Edwards will be released on May 16, 2014, in 3D. Goyer ("The Dark Knight") and Max Borenstein ("The Seventh Son"). Fans might also be pleased to hear that the studio plans to make "Godzilla" a "gritty, realistic actioner". Well, as realistic as a story about a giant radioactive lizard can be, of course. Here is the full press release :
