Oscars 2021: The Complete Nominations List

The nominations for the 2021 Oscars have been announced. The Best Picture contenders are "The Father", "Judas and the Black Messiah", "Mank", "Minari", "Nomadland", "Promising Young Woman", "Sound of Metal" and "The Trial of the Chicago 7".

The most nominated film this year is Netflix's "Mank" with 10 nominations, including Best Picture, Director (David Fincher), Actor Gary Oldman) and Supporting Actress (Amanda Seyfried). It is followed by "The Father", "Judas and the Black Messiah", "Minari", "Nomadland", "Sound of Metal" and "The Trial of the Chicago 7" with six nominations apiece.

The winners will be announced during a live ceremony at Los Angeles' Union Station and the Dolby Theatre on April 25th.

Bafta Film Awards 2021: The Full List of Nominations

The nominations for the 2021 BAFTA Film Awards hae been announced. "Nomandland" and "Rocks" received the most nominations this year with seven apiece, followed by "The Father", "Mank", "Minari" and "Promising Young Woman" with six each. The winners of the BAFTA awards will be revealed on Sunday, April 11th.

Golden Globes 2021: The Complete Nominations List

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards nominations have been announced. Netflix leads the pack with a total of 42 nominations for both movies and shows, followed by Amazon and Hulu with 10 nods each.

In the motion picture categroy, the contenders are "The Father", "Mank", "Nomadland", "Promising Young Woman", and "The Trial of the Chicago 7". The top films in the musical/comedy category are "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm", "Hamilton" (???), "Palm Springs", "Music" and "The Prom".

In the television categories, the top contenders are "Emily in Paris", "The Flight Attendant", "The Great", "Schitt's Creek" and "Ted Lasso" for musical/comedy, while in the drama category we have "The Crown", "Lovecraft Country", "The Mandalorian", "Ozark" and "Ratched".

This year's ceremony will air live on February 28the at 5 p.m. PT on NBC. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return to host the Golden Globes.

MANK (2020) - Trailers, Featurette, Images and Poster

"Mank" is a biopic directed by David Fincher ("Seven", "The Social Network") from a script by his late father Jack Fincher. The film focuses on the life of Herman J. Mankiewicz as he writes the screenplay for Citizen Kane, as well as his personal relationships with William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies.

The cast features Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Arliss Howard, Tuppence Middleton, Tom Pelphrey, Sam Troughton and Joseph Cross.

"Mank" was released in select theaters on November 13, 2020 and on December 4, 2020 via Netflix.

Gary Oldman to Star in David Fincher's Biopic MANK

Oscar winner Gary Oldman ("Darkest Hour") has signed on to star as "Citizen Kane" co-writer Herman Mankiewicz in the upcoming Netflix biopic "Mank". The film will be directed by David Fincher ("The Social Network", "Gone Girl").

The period film tells the story of Herman Mankiewicz, whose nickname was "Mank", a newspaper man-turned-screenwriter who co-wrote "Citizen Kane" with Orson Welles. Mankiewicz was famous for his satirical and witty writing style, and worked on classics like "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), "The Pride of the Yankees" (1942) and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1953), among many others.

He won an Academy Award along with Welles for his "Citizen Kane" script, but there was a bit of controversy surrounding the 1941 classic as Mankiewicz accused Welles of trying to push him out of the limelight, even saying that the filmmaker offered to pay him off in exchange for sole credit.

The biopic's screenplay was written by Fincher's father Jack Fincher, also a newspaper man, and it took the filmmaker over 20 years to bring the story to the big screen. Fincher originally intended to make the film after finishing the 1997 thriller "The Game".

"Mank" will be shot in black-and-white, and will be produced by Fincher's longtime collaborator Cean Chaffin, and "Darkest Hour" producer Douglas Urbanski. This will be Fincher's first feature film directorial project since 2014's "Gone Girl".

Oldman is also set to star in Steven Soderbergh's drama "The Laundromat" opposite Meryl Streep.
