The winners of the 2021 WGA Awards have been announced. Their top film honors went to Emerald Fennell for "Promising Young Woman" in the Original Screenplay category, and the Adapted Screenplay award to Sacha Baron Cohen and his team of writers for the "Borat" sequel. In the television categories, the winners include "The Crown", "Ted Lasso", "Mrs America" and "The Queen's Gambit".

Oscars 2021 Complete Nominations List

The nominations for the 2021 Oscars have been announced. The Best Picture contenders are "The Father", "Judas and the Black Messiah", "Mank", "Minari", "Nomadland", "Promising Young Woman", "Sound of Metal" and "The Trial of the Chicago 7".

The most nominated film this year is Netflix's "Mank" with 10 nominations, including Best Picture, Director (David Fincher), Actor Gary Oldman) and Supporting Actress (Amanda Seyfried). It is followed by "The Father", "Judas and the Black Messiah", "Minari", "Nomadland", "Sound of Metal" and "The Trial of the Chicago 7" with six nominations apiece.

The winners will be announced during a live ceremony at Los Angeles' Union Station and the Dolby Theatre on April 25th.

Bafta 2021 Awards Nominations

The nominations for the 2021 BAFTA Film Awards hae been announced. "Nomandland" and "Rocks" received the most nominations this year with seven apiece, followed by "The Father", "Mank", "Minari" and "Promising Young Woman" with six each. The winners of the BAFTA awards will be revealed on Sunday, April 11th.

The Writers Guild of America Awards announced their nominations for the 2021 WGA Awards. The film nominations include "The Trial of the Chicago 7", "Judas and the Black Messiah", "Palm Springs", "The White Tiger", "Promising Young Woman", "Sound of Metal" and "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm".

Notable snubs this year due to ineligibility include some massive critical darlings and awards favorites like "Nomadland", "Da 5 Bloods", "Minari", "Mank", "Pieces of a Woman" and the animated film "Soul".

Golden Globes 2021 Complete Nominations List

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards nominations have been announced. Netflix leads the pack with a total of 42 nominations for both movies and shows, followed by Amazon and Hulu with 10 nods each.

In the motion picture categroy, the contenders are "The Father", "Mank", "Nomadland", "Promising Young Woman", and "The Trial of the Chicago 7". The top films in the musical/comedy category are "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm", "Hamilton" (???), "Palm Springs", "Music" and "The Prom".

In the television categories, the top contenders are "Emily in Paris", "The Flight Attendant", "The Great", "Schitt's Creek" and "Ted Lasso" for musical/comedy, while in the drama category we have "The Crown", "Lovecraft Country", "The Mandalorian", "Ozark" and "Ratched".

This year's ceremony will air live on February 28the at 5 p.m. PT on NBC. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return to host the Golden Globes.

"Promising Young Woman" is a darkly comic thriller written, directed and produced by Emerald Fennell ("Killing Eve").

The film stars Carey Mulligan as a young woman, traumatized by a tragic event in her past, who seeks out vengeance against those who cross her path. Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Clancy Brown, Jennifer Coolidge, Laverne Cox, Connie Britton, Adam Brody, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-PLasse, Alfred Molina and Molly Shannon co-star.

"Promising Young Woman" premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and it was released in theaters on December 25, 2020.
