Sophie Wilde to Star in Alien Invasion Thriller SOON YOU WILL BE GONE AND POSSIBLY EATEN
"Talk to Me" and "Babygirl" actress Sophie Wilde is set to star in the sci-fi thriller "Soon You Will Be Gone and Possibly Eaten". The film is directed by Egor Abramenko (A24's "Altar", "Sputnik") from a screenplay by Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins, the writing team behind Hulu's "Hellraiser", Searchlight and Anton's "The Night House" and Lionsgate's "She Rides Shotgun". The script is based on the short story by Nick Antosca, screenwriter of "Antlers" and creator/showrunner of Apple's "Cape Fear" executive produced by Martin Scorsese & Steven Spielberg, and starring Javier Bardem and Amy Adams.

The high concept sci-fi thriller follows Rob and Sabile, a young engaged couple, who head to a secluded mountain resort to take their vows and step into the new chapter of their shared lives. What was planned as a joyous wedding attended by family members takes a different turn when unexpected guests crash the ceremony.

Anton is fully financing the film and handling worldwide rights, launching sales at EFM. Domestic sales are being handled by Anton, Anonymous Content and WME Independent. Producers include Sébastien Raybaud ("Victorian Psycho", "Greenland 2", "The Night House") for Anton, Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat (Hulu's "Murdaugh: A Death in the Family"), Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks for Divide/Conquer ("M3GAN", "The Black Phone 2") and Dawn Olmstead and Nick Shumaker for Anonymous Content. The project is executive produced by Anonymous Content's David Levine ("Nickel Boys") and Garrett Kemble.

Production will start in Spring, with production design by Masha Slavina who previously collaborated with Abramenko on "Altar" and "Sputnik". The alien design will be handled by Monkey Rave.

Abramenko said in a statement: "I was blown away by Nick Antosca's short story. From the get-go, it was a very fresh take on the alien genre, which is a really rare thing."

Wilde can next be seen in Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu's "Digger" opposite Tom Cruise.

Anne Hathaway To Star In Colleen Hoovers Verity Movie Adaptation

Anne Hathaway has signed on to star in Amazon MGM's upcoming big screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover's best-selling book "Verity". The film is directed by Michael Showalter ("The Eyes of Tammy Faye", "The Idea of You"). The script is penned by Nick Antosca ("The Act", "A Friend of the Family") from previous drafts by Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna and Will Honley & April Maguire. The film will be released in theaters.

Hathaway stars as Verity Crawford, a famous author who is unable to finish her thriller novel after a car accident leaves her badly injured and incapacitated. Her husband Jeremy offers a struggling writer named Lowen a huge sum of money to complete the remaining books in the series. Lowen accepts the gig but uncovers dark secrets in the process, including an unfinished manuscript that hints at chilling admissions about Verity and her family's past, leaving Lowen to determine if Verity is a gifted fictionist or deranged psychopath.

The roles of Jeremy and Lowen have yet to be cast. Hathaway, Hoover and Showalter will serve as producers under their respective banners of Somewhere Pictures, Heartbones Entertainment and Semi-Formal Productions. Additional producers include Antosca of Eat the Cat, Jordana Mollick of Semi-Formal and Stacey Sher of Shiny Penny. Lauren Levine of Heartbones will executive produce. "Verity" falls under Semi-Formal's first-look film deal with Amazon MGM.

"Verity" was self-published in 2018 and spent months on the New York Times best-sellers list and sold more than 1 million copies in 2023. Hoover also wrote the hit novel "It Ends With Us", which was adapted into a box-office sleeper hit directed by Justin Baldoni and starring Blake Lively. A film version of Hoover's book "Reminders of Him" is in the works at Universal Pictures.

Hathaway can next be seen in David Lowery's melodrama "Mother Mary" and the sci-fi film "Flowervale Street". She's also set to reprise her role in Disney's "The Princess Diaries 3".
