Razzie Awards 2026 Winners Ice Cube War Of The Worlds

Tomorrow will be Oscars night, but today is Razzies day, as the parody awards show (dis)honors the worst cinematic disasters of 2025. And the worst of the worst this year is Amazon's meme-worthy sci-fi flick "War of the Worlds", which took home the undesirable trophies for Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Ice Cube), Worst Prequel/Remake/Rip-Off/Sequel, Worst Director (Riche Lee) and Worst Screenplay.

Disney's disastrous live-action movie "Snow White" took home two awards for Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screen Combo, both for the grotesque CGI dwarfs. Meanwhile, Kate Hudson won the Razzie's Redeemer Award for her Oscar-nominated performance in "Song Sung Blue". Hudson previously received Razzie nominations for "Music" (2021), "Mother's Day" (2017), and "Fool's Gold"/"My Best Friend's Girl" (2009).

Razzie Awards Nominations 2026

The nominees for the 46th edition of the Golden Raspberry Awards have been announced. Leading the pack of unfortunate honorees are Disney's live-action flop "Snow White" and Ice Cube's now infamously legendary "War of the Worlds" with six nominations each. Other nominated films include "The Electric State", "Hurry Up Tomorrow" and "Star Trek: Section 31".

In the acting categories we find Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye nominated for worst actor for his performance in "Hurry Up Tomorrow", which ended up with a total of five Razzie nods, Dave Bautista for "In the Lost Lands", Ice Cube for "War of the Worlds", Scott Eastwood for "Alarum", and Jared Leto for "Tron: Ares".

The worst actress nominees include Ariana DeBose ("Love Hurts"), Milla Jovovich ("In the Lost Lands"), Natalie Portman ("Fountain of Youth"), Rebel Wilson ("Bride Hard") and Michelle Yeoh ("Star Trek: Section 31").

The unlucky winners of the 46th annual Razzies will be revealed on March 14, 2026.

Star Wars Fast & Furious 21 Jump Street Sequels

  • It was revealed this week that Disney plans on releasing a "Star Wars" movie every year starting with 2015 when "Star Wars: Episode VII" comes out. They will alternate one "Episode" sequel with a spin-off film which have been rumored to be prequel origin stories for characters like Yoda, Boba Fett and a young Han Solo. Obviously, Disney plans to make a ton of money off the newly acquired franchise, but the trouble is that delivering movies on a tight schedule could be the death of the franchise. One reason is that the quality of the screenplays will probably be terrible. Even George Lucas released one "Star Wars" movie every three years. "Star Wars: Episode VII" will be directed by J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek: Into Darkness", "Lost") and written by Lawrence Kasdan ("The Empire Strikes Back") and Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: First Class").

  • Vin Diesel announced at the CinemaCon that "Fast & Furious 7" will be released on July 11, 2014. Also, Universal managed to find a replacement for franchise director Justin Lin, who dropped out of the seventh installment. The new director is James Wan ("Saw", "Insidious"). I think Wan is a great addition as he's proven himself to be a smart independent filmmaker and his slick visual style would be a great fit for this franchise, despite not being as bloody, or scary, as Wan's previous films. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will definitely return for "Fast & Furious 7", but Dwayne Johnson's involvement has not been announced, yet.

  • Sony announced that they are working on the "21 Jump Street" sequel. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will reprise their roles from the zany remake. Hill and writer Michael Bacall are currently working on the script and they expect to start filming this year, in September. "21 Jump Street" was a surprise hit last year and a sequel was expected. Next stop: College.

  • One of the more surprising announcements of the week was that Universal is moving forward with the sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman". It's surprising because the first film was a bit of an underachiever at the box-office, with a domestic gross of $155 million versus a $170 million budget. Universal, however, must have liked the earnings from foreign markets, where the film did somewhat better with $241 million. Overall, this was not a huge hit, but the studio is interested in doing the sequel which they hope to release in 2015. Kirsten Stewart is confirmed to return, but director Rupert Sanders has passed on the offer to direct the sequel.

  • Another sequel that Universal is pushing forward is the one for "Pitch Perfect". Unlike "Snow White", this film was a surprise hit earning $65 million on a $17 million budget. The cast of the first film featured Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp, Skylar Astin, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Hanna Mae Lee, Ben Platt and Elizabeth Banks. It is unknown whether the entire cast will return. Writer Kay Cannon ("30 Rock") will return to pen the script for the sequel. Universal is planning to release the film in 2015.

  • More news surface regarding the second sequel to "The Hangover". According to the rumor mill, "The Hangover Part III" will take place in Tijuana, with some scenes taking place in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Also, the plot is said to follows the Wolf Pack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha) trying to break Alan (Zach Galifianakis) out of a mental hospital. The third installment will be directed once again by Todd Phillips, who says that this won't simply be another carbon copy of the original, like the second one was.

  • Liev Schreiber, Julianne Moore and Emma Watson are in talks to join Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic "Noah". Moore will star as Noah's wife, Naameth, and Schreiber will play the villain part (which he's usually so good at). Emma Watson replaces previously rumored Saoirse Ronan for a yet unspecified "young female" part. Russel Crowe stars as Noah and his two sons will be played by Douglas Booth ("The Pillars of the Earth") and Logan Lerman ("Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief"). The release date is set for March 28, 2014.

  • Stephen King is knee deep in movies based on his books these days. Besides the new "Carrie" remake, an intriguing new musical he's writing with John Mellencamp and a big screen version of "The Stand", two more of his horror works have been selected for cinematic treatment : "It" and "The Ten O’Clock People". "It", the story of a supernatural creature that preys on children and appears as whatever frightens them the most (a killer Clown most of the time), will be directed by Cary Fukunaga ("Jane Eyre") and written by Chase Palmer (who was once hired to adapt "Frank Herbert’s Dune"). The most interesting thing about this adaptation is that it will be split into two movies, a crucial move considering that the novel is around 1,100 pages long. "It", like "The Stand" was previously adapted into a relatively successful 1990 TV Mini-series. The other Stephen King adaptation, "The Ten O’Clock People" is a short story about a man who in trying to kick his smoking habit uncovers a frightening aspect of reality that he plans to extinguish through extreme measures. This movie will be written and directed by Tom Holland (the original "Fright Night", "Child's Play" and King's "Thinner").

  • Samuel L. Jackson is joining the "Robocop" remake directed by Jose Padilha ("Elite Squad") and he will star as a "charismatic TV mogul and a powerful force in the Robocop world". As previously reported, the remake stars Joel Kinnaman as Robocop and Gary Oldman as the robot cop's creator. Filming starts in September.

  • I bet a lot of you "Dirty Dancing" fans will probably be glad to find out that the upcoming remake has been put on hold. The reason cited for this delay is "casting issues". The remake, a controversial concept at heart, would have been directed by Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical") and written by Brad Falchuk ("Glee").

  • Quite predictable seeing as it's such a big box-office hit, "Snow White and the Huntsman" will get a sequel as soon as possible. Universal has hired screenwriter David Koepp ("Spider-Man", "Men in Black III") to pen the script and stars Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth have signed on for not just one, but two sequels. Director Rupert Sanders may not return.

  • And speaking of sequels, here's one you probably didn't think could (or should) happen, "Eastern Promises 2". Viggo Mortensen and Vincent Cassel are in talks to join the sequel and Cronenberg will return to direct. It's quite unusual to get a sequel for a movie that wasn't necessarily a big box-office hit (grossed around $56 million worldwide), but if anyone can pull off something cool and intriguing, it's Cronenberg.
