New on DVD and Blu-ray: December 27, 2016

This week on DVD and Blu-ray we have Oliver Stone's controversial biopic "Snowden", the Australian drama "The Dressmaker" starring Kate Winslet, the thriller "When the Bough Breaks" and the critically acclaimed indie drama "American Honey".

Other notable releases include the Swedish drama "A Man Called Ove", which has recently been shortlisted for the foreign-language Oscar, and Ti West's western "In a Valley of Violence" starring Ethan Hawke and John Travolta. "Underworld" fans should check out the new Blu-ray re-release of all four films in the franchise in anticipation of the fifth film's release in theaters next week.

The new home video releases also include the first season of the BBC Two World War II series "Close to the Enemy". And, for classic film collectors, there's the 1970 horror "The House That Screamed".

Weekend Box-Office: THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Tops Unimpressive Weekend

It was a very slow weekend at the box-office, so when a remake like "The Magnificent Seven" manages to top the charts, it doesn't quite feel like much of an achievement. The same goes for the modest debut of the animated feature "Storks".

As the release date for Oliver Stone's controversial biopic "Snowden" approaches, Open Road Films has released six new clips, a batch of images and two international posters.

The film is based on the books "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man" and "Time of the Octopus", and it stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Scott Eastwood, Zachary Quinto, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, and Nicolas Cage.

"Snowden" opens in theaters on September 16th.

SNOWDEN (2016) - Full Trailer and Poster

The first full trailer and a poster for Oliver Stone's biopic "Snowden" have been released online.

Based on the books "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man" and "Time of the Octopus", the film details the story of controversial CIA employee Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world.

The cast also includes Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Scott Eastwood, Zachary Quinto, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, and Nicolas Cage.

"Snowden" opens in theaters on September 16th after being delayed for almost a whole year.

The teaser trailer and poster for Oliver Stone's upcoming biopic "Snowden" have been released. The film, based on the books "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man" and "Time of the Octopus", tells the story of CIA employee Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and the political earthquake he set off when he leaked thousands of classified documents to the press. The trailer offers no footage and pretty much just lets us know that the movie is coming. The film also stars Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, and Nicolas Cage.

"Snowden" opens in theaters on December 25th.
