Weekend Box-Office: ALLEGIANT Makes Disappointing Debut

"Zootopia" still has no rival at the box-office as "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" underperformed in its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Christian drama "Miracles from Heaven" made a solid debut.

5 New Clips from ALLEGIANT Starring Shailene Woodley

Lionsgate has released five new clips for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant". The film is now in theaters and has been mauled by critics. It now stands at a franchise-low score of just 10% on Rottentomatoes.com and that same lack of enthusiasm will probably be felt at the box-office this weekend, as well.

Directed by Robert Schwentke ("Insurgent"), the film stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Jeff Daniels, Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Daniel Dae Kim and Naomi Watts.

Today we have a new behind-the-scenes featurette, thirty-two images and two posters for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant". The sequel directed by Robert Schwentke ("Insurgent") is the first of a two-part finale that will end next year with "Ascendant". This is the first part of the series finale which is set to conclude with the fourth film titled "Ascendant" on March 24, 2017. The film focuses on the first half of Veronica Roth's last book in the series, and it will be followed by the final chapter, titled "Ascendant", which opens in theaters on March 24, 2017.

The teaser trailer and poster for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" have been released online. There is also another teaser poster released for the next and final chapter in the Divergent series, now titled "Ascendant".

The current installment is based on the first half of Veronica Roth's last book in the series which finds Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) venturing into the world outside of the fence that encloses Chicago and being taken into protective custody by a mysterious agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

The film also stars Jeff Daniels, Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Daniel Dae Kim and Naomi Watts.
