Nicolas Cage to Return for New LONGLEGS Movie From Osgood Perkins

Nicolas Cage To Return For New Longlegs Movie From Osgood Perkins

Nicolas Cage is set to return as the iconic Satanic serial killer Longlegs in a new film from genre filmmaker Osgood Perkins, which is expected to expand the first film's universe into a full-fledged franchise. Paramount Pictures has already picked up the rights to the mysterious new project, as the original film was a massive hit for Neon in 2024, grossing $127.9 million worldwide against a $10 million budget.

"Longlegs" starred Maika Monroe as an FBI agent on the hunt for an occult-obsessed serial killer responsible for a string of family murders across Oregon. Cage's performance as the titular villain was widely praised and immediately became iconic, contributing to the film's success.

Perkins will return to write and direct new installment, which has not yet received a title. Cage will star and produce. Details of the project are being kept under wraps, but it has been reported that the new film is now a sequel, but a new story "set in the Longlegs universe".

Also producing are Range Media Partners' Brian Kavanaugh Jones alongside Perkins and Chris Ferguson, through their company Phobos, and Dave Caplan via C2, which originated the rights to the property.

Perkins recently wrapped production on his new film "The Young People" starring Nicole Kidman, Lola Tung and Nico Parker. Meanwhile, Cage can next be seen in Amazon's "Spider-Noir", which premieres in May, and David O.Russell's biopic "Madden".
