"The Bride!" is a horror romance written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal based on the 1935 film "Bride of Frankenstein", which in turn was based on Mary Shelley's 1818 novel "Frankenstein". Kevin Costner & Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In Dramedy HONEYMOON WITH HARRY

Kevin Costner ("Yellowstone") and Jake Gyllenhaal ("Presumed Innocent") have signed on to star in Amazon MGM's upcoming dramedy "Honeymoon with Harry". The film will reunite "Crazy, Stupid, Love." and "This is Us" helmers Glen Ficarra and John Requa, and writer Dan Fogelman. The film is based on the book by Bart Baker.

The plot follows a man (Gyllenhaal) as he decides to go on a honeymoon with his would-be father-in-law (Costner) after his fiancée dies two days before their wedding.

Producers include Fogelman, Mike Karz via Gulfstream Pictures, and Jennifer Salke via her newly launched Sullivan Street Productions banner. The project marks Salke's first project with Amazon MGM since stepping down as head of the studio earlier this year and her producing debut. She previously worked with Fogelman on the hit family drama series "This Is Us" as then President of NBC Entertainment.

Gyllenhaal can next be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's "Remain" and Maggie Gyllenhaal's "The Bride!". His company Nine Stories is under a three-year first-look film deal with Amazon MGM.

Costner is also set to serve as executive producer of the forthcoming Civil War six-hour spy drama limited series "The Gray House".

Jake Gyllenhaal To Star in Crime Film COLLISION Based on a Don Winslow Short Story

Jake Gyllenhaal has signed on to star in and produce the upcoming crime thriller "Collision" based on a short story in Don Winslow's upcoming anthology collection "The Final Score". Amazon has bought the rights in a highly competitive bidding war that involved multiple interested parties.

The story follows a devoted husband and father with a great life who makes one terrible mistake that sends him to prison, where he must learn how to survive. When he finally becomes free, he learns that he was protected in prison and is sent on a mission that will change his life forever.

This marks the second Winslow adaptation in the works at Amazon, following "Crime 101", based on another short story, which is written and directed by Bart Layton ("American Animals") and stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan, Nick Nolte and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Winslow's crime novel "City on Fire" is also getting a big screen adaptation directed by Matt Ross ("Captain Fantastic") from a script by Justin Kuritzkes ("Challengers") and starring Austin Butler. Meanwhile, Winslow's heist tale "The Final Score", which is the title story from the anthology collection, is expected to be shopped to buyers in July.

Gyllenhaal is also set to star in the sequel "Road House 2", which will be directed by Guy Ritchie, as well as M. Night Shyamalan's "Remain". He can also be seen in Season 2 of "Presumed Innocent". Gyllenhaal and Ritchie will also be working together on the action drama "In the Grey", which also stars Henry Cavill, Eiza Gonzalez and Rosamund Pike.

Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In M. Night Shyamalan Movie Based on Nicholas Sparks Romantic Novel

Jake Gyllenhaal will star in M. Night Shyamalan's new movie, which is based on a romance novel by Nicholas Sparks ("The Notebook", "Dear John"). The movie is not really an adaptation, as the original narrative is a collaborative effort that consisted of Sparks writing a book and Shyamalan penning a script independently of each other. No studio is attached to the project yet.

Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan are producing the film through their Blinding Edge Pictures. Sparks' regular producers Theresa Park and Marc Bienstock are also on board. Sparks serves as executive producer.

Gyllenhaal can next be seen in Guy Ritchie's thriller "In the Grey" and the monster movie "The Bride!" directed by his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal. In February, 2025 he will share the stage with Denzel Washington in an adaptation of "Othello" on Broadway.

Sparks' latest novel, "Counting Miracles", which was released this fall and debuted at #1 on the NY Times best-sellers list, will be adapted into a film by Amazon.

Jake Gyllenhaal To Star in Apple TV+ Series PRESUMED INNOCENT From David E. Kelley & J.J. Abrams

Jake Gyllenhaal is about to make his first major foray into television with the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series "Presumed Innocent" which hails from David E. Kelley ("Big Little Lies"), J.J. Abrams ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens") and Dustin Thomason ("Castle Rock"). Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in and executive produce the miniseries, which is inspired by the courtroom thriller novel of the same name by Scott Turow.

Gyllenhaal will play Rusty Sabich, the fervent prosecutor suspected of killing a close colleague when the evidence begins to point to him. THe novel, which was published in 1987, was previously adapted into the 1990 movie of the same name starring Harrison Ford in the lead role.

Kelley is the writer, executive producer and showrunner of the series, which will be exploring obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.

The series hails from Bad Robot Productions and David E. Kelley Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich executive produce for Bad Robot. Kelley executive produces through David E. Kelley Productions alongside Matthew Tinker.

Gyllenhaal can next be seen starring in Guy Ritchie's "The Covenant" and Doug Liman's "Road House". "Presumed Innocent" will mark his first television project in a series regular capacity.

"Strange World" is a new animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, directed by Don Hall ("Moana") from a script by Qui Nguyen. THe voice cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu. The film opened in theaters on November 23, 2022.
