Weekend Box Office: TOY STORY 5 Scores Franchise-Best $159.6 Million Opening

Pixar's "Toy Story 5" effortlessly dominated the Juneteenth holiday weekend at the box office with a record-breaking debut. Meanwhile, Spielberg's "Disclosure Day" suffered a severe decline in its sophomore weekend, while "Obsession" and "Backrooms" continue to deliver strong performances. Other new semi-wide releases like "The Death of Robin Hood" and "Leviticus" failed to attract moviegoers.

THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD (2026) - Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

"The Death of Robin Hood" is a period thriller written and directed by Michael Sarnoski ("Pig", "A Quiet Place: Day One") based on the 17th century ballad "Robin Hood's Death". Hugh Jackman stars in the lead role, and he's joined by Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgard, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe. The film was released in theaters on June 19, 2026 by A24.

New Trailers: COYOTE VS. ACME, THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD, EVIL DEAD BURN, SICK PUPPY, MY BEST FRIEND'S DEAD & THE CURRENTS

Today we have new trailers for:

• The live-action animation hybrid movie "Coyote vs. ACME" starring Will Forte, Lana Condor, Tone Bell and John Cena. The film is famous for being shelved by Warner Bros Discovery in 2023 in order to obtain a tax write-off. However, the studio later reversed its decision and allowed the filmmakers to seek other distributors following public backlash. The movie was picked up by Ketchup Entertainment, who also nabbed the rights for Warner Bros. Animation's 2024 film "The Day the Earth Blew Up".
• "The Death of Robin Hood", a gritty reimagining of the iconic hero from acclaimed filmmaker Michael Sarnoski ("Pig", "A Quiet Place: Day One"). The film stars Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe.
• The horror film "Evil Dead Burn", the franchise's third standalone installment following 2013's "Evil Dead" and 2023's "Evil Dead Rise". The new film is directed by French filmmaker Sébastien Vaniček ("Infested"), and it stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand, Maude Davey and George Pullar.
• The thriller "Sick Puppy" starring Natasha Calis and Dylan Taylor.
• The supernatural horror film "My Best Friend's Dead" starring Caitlin Duffy and Anna Shields.
• The psychological drama "The Currents" starring Isabel Aime Gonzalez Sola.

• The new gritty cop thriller "The Rip" from director Joe Carnahan ("The Grey", "Narc"). The film stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Kyle Chandler, Scott Adkins and Néstor Carbonell.
• Marvel's new film "Avengers: Doomsday". The new teaser trailer reveals a first look at the MCU's X-Men, which are actually the old Fox X-Men. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and James Marsden reprise their roles as Professor X, Magneto and Cyclops in the trailer.
• The A24 period thriller "The Death of Robin Hood" starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer. The film is directed by Michael Sarnoski ("Pig", "A Quiet Place: Day One").
• The horror film "Whistle" directed by Corin Hardy ("The Hallow"). The film stars Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, Sky Yang, Michelle Fairley and Nick Frost.

Hugh Jackman & Jodie Comer To Star In Darker Robin Hood Reimagining

Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman and Emmy winner Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve") are set to star in the upcoming movie "The Death of Robin Hood" from writer/director Michael Sarnoski (Pig", "A Quiet Place: Day One").

The film is a darker reimagining of the classic Robin Hood tale, which sees the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation.

Production is expected to begin in February 2025. Lyrical Media is fully financing. Aaron Ryder ("Arrival", "The Prestige") and Andrew Swett will produce under their Ryder Picture Company banner alongside Alexander Black for Lyrical Media. Lyrical's Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers will executive-produce with Rama Gottumukkala, Sarnoski, and Jackman.

Sarnoski said the following: "It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood. Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way."
