Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2 Trailer

Today we have new trailers for:
  • The second season of the Disney+ series "Percy Jackson & The Olympians".
  • The darkly comic drama series "The Death of Bunny Munro" starring Matt Smith. The show is based on Nick Cave's book.
  • The three-part murder-mystery limited series "Agatha Christie's Seven Dials" based on the author's book "The Seven Dials Mystery". The cast includes Mia McKenna-Bruce, Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman.
  • The second season of Netflix's comedy series "A Man on the Inside" starring Ted Danson.
  • The period murder mystery series "The Artist" starring Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, Danny Huston, Hank Azaria, Ever Anderson, Clark Gregg, Patti LuPone, Zachary Quinto and Katharine McPhee. The two-part series will be released on Thanksgiving and Christmas on the new streaming platform The Network.
  • The four-part BBC drama series "Prisoner 951" inspired by the true story of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe's imprisonment in Iran, and her husband's determined fight for her freedom. The show stars Narges Rashidi and Joseph Fiennes.

Invincible Season 4 Teaser Trailer

Today we have new trailers for:
  • Amazon's fourth season of Robert Kirkman's animated superhero series "Invincible".
  • The Netflix psychological thriller "The Beast in Me" from executive producer and "Homeland" co-creator/showrunner Howard Gordon. The show stars Claire Danes, Matthew Rhys, Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, Tim Guinee, David Lyons, Deirdre O'Connell and Jonathan Banks.
  • The HBO Max horror series "IT: Welcome to Derry" from Andy and Barbara Muschietti. The show is a prequel to the two-part Stephen King" adaptation "IT" and the cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Madeleine Stowe, James Remar and Bill Skarsgard reprising his role as Pennywsie.
  • Amazon's new DC animated action comedy series "Bat-Fam" from the creators of "Merry Little Batman". The animated spinoff features the voices of Luke Wilson, Yonas Kibreab, James Cromwell and Bobby Moynihan.
  • The second season of Apple's comedy series "Palm Royale" starring Kristen Wiig.
  • The murder mystery series "The Artist" starring Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, Danny Huston, Hank Azaria, Patti LuPone and Zachary Quinto. The show is created and directed by Aram Rappaport ("The Green Veil"). The series will premiere on the brand new streaming platform The Network

In a show that brought back some of Hollywood's Golden Age charm, "The Artist" won five Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Michael Hazanavicius), Best Leading Actor (Jean Dujardin), Best Costume Design and Best Original Score. Another five Oscars were awarded to Martin Scorsese's "Hugo", all of them in the technical categories : Visual Effects, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography and Art Direction.

As expected, Christopher Plummer won Best Supporting Actor for "Beginners" and Octavia Spencer received the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "The Help". In a bit of an upset (although I was expecting it) Meryl Streep earned her third Academy Award (Best Leading Actress) for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady". "The Descendants" writers  Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash received the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Woody Allen was rewarded for his original "Midnight in Paris" screenplay. This is Allen's second writing Oscar since his 1987 win for "Hannah and Her Sisters". As usual, he did not attend the ceremony. The Iranian drama "A Separation" ended its incredible awards season performance with the crowning achievement, the Best Foreign Film Academy Award. And last, but not least, in the Animated Feature category, Gore Verbinski took home the Oscar for "Rango".

Billy Crystal was a much better Oscars host than any of his recent predecessors, proving once more why he's hosted the show nine times, so far. His jokes were for the most part on the safe side of Hollywood humor, with a few sharper puns here and there to spice things up, but his overall demeanor was charming and pleasant, and fit in well with the Hollywood Classics theme that included the theater's new look, the skits and the cool actor interviews. It wasn't the best ever Oscars show, but it was certainly an improvement from previous years.

"The Artist", a major contender at the Oscars this Sunday, won six César awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius) and Best Actress (Berenice Bejo). Surprisingly, Jean Dujardin, a frontrunner at the Oscars and winner of most major acting awards this year (including a BAFTA, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild award, not to mention Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival last year), was snubbed. The award for Best Actor was received by Omar Sy for the comedy "Intouchables", a huge box-office hit in France. Michel Blanc won Best Supporting Actor for his role in the political drama "The Minister" and Carmen Maura's performance in "Service Entrance" was honored in the Best Supporting Actress category. Roman Polanski and Yasmina Reza won the Adapted Screenplay award for "Carnage". Iranian drama "A Separation" won Best Foreign Film, bringing it even closer to the expected success at the Oscars. Here is the full list of winners :

Once again, "The Artist" proves to be an unstoppable force, this time at the 2012 British Academy Film Awards. The french silent movie won seven BAFTAs, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor (Jean Dujardin). The film is enjoying quite a hot streak after winning at the Golden Globes, the Producers Guild Awards, the Directors Guild Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards (Leading Role). Jean Dujardin also won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival last year. All things considered, it's easy to see why I feel that "The Artist" will be a big hit at the Academy Awards, where it stands nominated for no less than 10 awards.

Another string of predictable wins follows on the list : Mery Streep for Best Actress ("The Iron Lady"), Christopher Plummer won for Best Supporting Actor ("Beginners") and Octavia Spencer for Best Supporting Actress ("The Help"). The british spy thriller "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" managed to score two wins, for Best British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay. The Foreign Film (Best Film Not in the English Language) category offered quite a surprise as Pedro Almodovar's "The Skin I Live in" took home the award and not the favorite, so far, the iranian drama "A Separation". I have a feeling that the Oscars will favor the iranian film, though, as Almodovar already has an Oscar for 2002s "Hable Con Ella" (Best Writing, Original Screenplay). And another (pleasant) surprise was that "Rango" won the award for Best Animated Film.

"The Artist" made a big impression at the Producers and Directors Guild Awards, but "The Help" stole the spotlight at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. Of course, Jean Dujardin ("The Artist") did win the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award, but "The Help" nabbed three awards : Female Actor in a Leading Role (Viola Davis), Female Actor in a Supporting Role (Octavia Spencer) and Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. And, last but not least, veteran actor Christopher Plummer confirmed expectations and won the award for Supporting Role. Considering the SAGs and the Golden Globes, it's safe to say that Dujardin, Plummer and Spencer are sure bets at the Oscars. Viola Davis still has a good chance, but I can't ignore the possibility of Meryl Streep getting her third Academy Award just yet. My prediction is evenly split between the two, although I would personally like to see Davis get the Oscar.

The Directors Guild Awards delivered no surprises. The award for Best Director for a Feature Film went to Michel Hazanavicius for "The Artist". The other nominees in this category were Woody Allen ("Midnight in Paris"), David Fincher ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"), Alexander Payne ("The Descendants") and Martin Scorsese ("Hugo"). This latest win comes just a week after the french silent movie was awarded the Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. Both awards are usually solid precursors to the Oscars. From now on it's pretty certain that "The Artist" is locked in for Best Picture and Best Director at the Academy Awards. Another highlight at the DGAs this year was the award for Drama Series, which went to Patty Jenkins for her work on the "Pilot" episode of AMC's "The Killing". Jenkins was attached to direct "Thor 2", but was replaced by Alan Taylor, an experienced TV series director.

"The Artist" scores another win on its road to the Oscars. The Producers Guild bestowed its top honor to the silent movie, after last Sunday it had won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy/Musical. "The Artist" won over a strong list of contenders : "The Descendants", "War Horse", "The Help", "The Ides of March", "Bridesmaids", "Hugo", "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", "Midnight in Paris" and "Moneyball".

Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin" won the award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures. The competition in this category featured mostly sequels/prequels (Pixar's "Cars 2", Dreamwork's "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Puss in Boots"), except for Gore Verbinski's "Rango". "Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest" won for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures.

In television, "Downton Abbey" won for Long-Form Television (against HBO's "Mildred Pierce", "Cinema Verite and "Too Big To Fail"), "Modern Family" was victorious in the Episodic Television, Comedy category (for a second consecutive year beating out "Glee" and "30 Rock") and "Boardwalk Empire" secured the award for Episodic Television, Drama (faced with "The Good Wife", "Dexter", "Game of Thrones" and "Mad Men").

The 69th Annual Golden Globes Nominations have been announced and, as expected, no major surprises. "The Artist" (6 nominations), "The Descendants" (5 nominations), "The Help" (5 nominations), "Moneyball" (4 nominations) and "Midnight in Paris" (4 nominations) are clearly the movies that will receive the most attention during the awards season. "Hugo" (3 nominations) and "War Horse" (2 nominations) managed to take some notice, thanks mostly to the fact that they were directed by Scorsese and Spielberg, respectively.  And in another surprise, David Fincher's remake of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" scored two nominations, for Best Actress - Drama (Rooney Mara) and Best Original Score (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross). The Golden Globes will be awarded on January 15, 2012, and the show will be, once again, hosted by Ricky Gervais. Read the full list of nominations after the jump :
