Matthew Rhys to Star in Six-Part BBC Miniseries DRAGON SLAYERS

"The Americans" and "The Beast in Me" star Matthew Rhys is set to lead the upcoming BBC drama limited series "Dragon Slayers". The actor will portray former Sunday Times editor Harry Evans as he tackles some of the biggest stories in UK history. Harry's Insight team took on powerful corporations, the legal establishment and often the Government itself with their investigations. Their commitment was to the readers of the newspaper and to the truth – often hidden, and sometimes dangerous to find.

The official synopsis also adds: "They fought for the victims of Thalidomide, unmasking the cover-ups that kept the public in the dark about the scandal, they worked to uncover the truth behind the DC-10 crash – then the world's worst air disaster, and they faced down treason charges in exposing Kim Philby as one of the most successful spies of the 20th century.

Set in the 1970s, Dragon Slayers will be based on wide-ranging research, published accounts and interviews with those who knew and worked with Harry – including his widow, editor, author and journalist Tina Brown CBE, and the Evans family".

The show hails from BAFTA winner Peter Bowker ("The A Word", "Marvellous"), who also writes and executive produces alongside Annalisa Dinnella ("Sex Education"). Al Mackay ("The Cage") will direct.

The investigative stories which were broken by Harry and his team carry as much power and purpose today as they did at the time. Executive producers include Patrick Spence ("A Spy Among Friends"), Rhys and Joe Williams ("Mr Bates vs The Post Office"). The producer is Natasha Romaniuk ("The Split"), the casting director is Shaheen Baig ("Adolescence"). The series is distributed by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.

Hiro Murai ("Atlanta") directed five episodes, while the rest are directed by Ti West, Sam Donovan and Andrew DeYoung. HALLOW ROAD (2025) - Trailer, Images and Posters

"Hallow Road" is psychological thriller directed by Babak Anvari ("Under the Shadow") from a script by William Gillies. The film stars Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys as two parents who enter a race against time when they receive a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter after she caused a tragic car accident. It opened in select theaters on October 31, 2025. On January 6, 2026 it was released on digital platforms.

John Krasinski & Matthew Rhys To Star In Serial Killer Drama Series SILENT RIVER

John Krasinski ("Jack Ryan") and Matthew Rhys ("The Americans") are set to lead Amazon's upcoming thriller drama series "Silent River". Created by Aaron Rabin, the project hails from Krasinski and Allyson Seeger's Sunday Night, whose first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios has been extended.

Told through the lens of two men (Krasinski and Rhys), whose lives are far more connected than they realize, the show explores the cracks of small-town America in the wake of discovering a serial killer among them.

Krasinski will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Andrew Bernstein is directing and executive producing. Bernstein served as an executive producer and director on Season 2 of the Prime Video series "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan", while Rabin served as co-executive producer and writer on Season 4. Krasinski, Seeger and Alexa Ginsburg will executive produce the series for Sunday Night.

Bernstein is set to direct the upcoming Jack Ryan movie for the streamer from a script by Rabin. Krasinski is reprising his title role in that film, which is produced by Sunday Night. Bernstein also previously directed Rhys in two episodes of FX's "The Americans".

Rhys is currently shooting the Netflix limited series "The Beast In Me" opposite Claire Danes. He recently wrapped "Towards Zero", a limited series adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic for Britbox and BBC1. He also finished filming the upcoming feature "Hallow Road" which also stars Rosamund Pike.

"Perry Mason" is a period drama miniseries created by Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald based on the character of the same name created by Earle Stanley Gardner.
