MAD MAX: FURY ROAD - 6 Clips and B-Roll

George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" opened today in theaters in the U.S. to rave reviews, so here are six clips from the movie and three B-Roll footage videos. Miller's post-apocalyptic epic has apparently lived up to the hype. It's currently 99% fresh on Rottentomatoes.com, a historic score for a blockbuster movie, and if does well at the box-office, too, it will certainly take its place in movie history as one the most important modern action films. Not bad for a reboot. The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee.

Aside from all the trailers, images and posters for George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" that Warner Bros. has been so generous with, there are also seven behind-the-scenes featurettes that you simply must watch. The videos showcase the film's awe-inspiring production, including the crazy vehicles and stunts. There are also some interesting character featurettes which detail the world Miller created and how the story plays out. So far, the film has been receiving rave reviews from critics and is currently holding an incredible 99% fresh rating on Rottentomatoes.com.

The cast features Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee.

41 New MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Pictures

Warner Bros. has released 41 new pictures from George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road". The images are just as awesome as the trailers and I can't help but get lost in all the details. The vehicles, the costumes, the makeup, all look amazing and incredibly detailed. I also really liked how they muted the colors, making them look almost black-and-white at times. From the trailers it looks like the movie will feature some strong colors, but I think they chose the right style for these images. I know the Oscars don't have a lot of love for this kind of movie, but I just feel that it's worth a couple of nods in the Art Direction and Makeup categories, at least.

The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD "Retaliate" Trailer, New Posters and Vehicle Pictures

With the release date of George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" fast approaching, Warner Bros. is making one final push in the movie's marketing campaign. We now have the final trailer titled "Retaliate", five new posters and ten images showcasing the film's dystopian vehicle designs. The trailer is still all kinds of insane, but lowers the volume a bit for the first part which is actually a lengthy clip from the film. The posters showcase some of the best art I've seen this year, and the vehicle designs are quite interesting, too. Since the post-apocalyptic machines bear names like "War Rig", "Peacemaker" and "The Gigahorse", I think you get the picture.

The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

More Glorious Madness in New MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Trailer and Poster

A new trailer and poster for George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" have just been released. The trailer adds even more madness to what was previously teased and I didn't even think that was possible. We also get some more plot details and some moody voiceovers to go with all the craziness. The art direction in particular has me intrigued. The original trilogy was also about post-apocalyptic madness and survival, but this reboot makes those movies look like G-rated family films. At this point, I'm not sure I even care if there's an actual plot to sustain all the action. I just want to take in all that glorious madness. The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD International Trailer and 7 New Images

There's a ton of madness to be found in George Miller's reboot "Mad Max: Fury Road" and this new trailer does a pretty good job of showcasing just how insane the movie will be. It looks so crazy in fact, that it makes the original trilogy look like a Disney flick. The scale is epic, the movie has a big-budget B-flick look unlike anything that Hollywood usually cranks out, and there's a raw intensity to it all that fits the title very well. I only hope that it doesn't become as overbearing as a Michael Bay movie in the end. The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

New MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Trailer and Poster

A new trailer and poster for "Mad Max: Fury Road" have been released today. The new trailer for George Miller's fourth installment in the post-apocalyptic franchise offers up more insane action and a massive scale, although Tom Hardy still doesn't seem to have any lines, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I remember Mel Gibson in "Road Warrior" only had a few lines of dialogue throughout the film. According to IMdB, he had exactly 16 lines of dialogue and two of them were "I only came for the gasoline". So I expect Hardy will be just as silent. You know what they say: "actions speak louder than words". The film also stars Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosei Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Trailer, Posters and Images Starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron

Warner Bros. has released a full barrage of publicity for the highly anticipated sequel/reboot "Mad Max: Fury Road", which includes the first official trailer and five new posters and images. Directed by George Miller, the post-apocalyptic actioner stars Tom Hardy as Max, a man seeking peace following the loss of his wife and child, who crosses paths with an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron) a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland. She is on the run from Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken and who ruthlessly pursues Furiosa and her band of rebels.

The film is supposedly one big chase scene from beginning to end and it no doubt looks determined to deliver on that promise. The film also stars Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosei Huntington-Whiteley, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Images: First Look at Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult

We finally have the first look at George Miller's long-awaited sequel/reboot to the 1980s classic "Mad Max". The new film will be titled "Mad Max: Fury Road" and from these first images released by Entertainment Weekly, I can say that the spirit of the original films is still there. The pictures give us a look at the new Max, played by Tom Hardy, the villainous Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, and her minion Nux, played by an almost unrecognizable Nicholas Hoult.

The coolest thing about this reboot is that, according to his interview in EW, director George Miller intends the film to be one huge chase scene :

"I wanted to tell a linear story–a chase that starts as the movie begins and continues for 110 minutes."

The film also stars Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosei Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

NEWS UPDATE: Colin Firth, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Purge 2, Insidious: Chapter 3

Colin Firth ("The King's Speech") will star in an adaptation of Jean-Patrick Manchette's noir novel "Three to Kill". The adaptation will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie ("Jack Reacher", "The Usual Suspects") who is also set to begin shooting "Mission: Impossible 5" in February 2014. Firth will star as a "disillusioned businessman witnesses a murder and finds himself being hunted by two relentless sociopaths". For more details, here is the book's synopsis:

"Businessman Georges Gerfaut witnesses a murder—and is pursued by the killers. His conventional life knocked off the rails, Gerfaut turns the tables and sets out to track down his pursuers. Along the way, he learns a thing or two about himself…. Manchette—masterful stylist, ironist, and social critic—limns the cramped lives of professionals in a neo-conservative world."

A release date has been announced for "Mad Max: Fury Road". The new installment in the post-apocalyptic franchise is set to open in theaters on May 15, 2015. The film has been a very long time in the making and it has been shooting for about three years. "Fury Road" will be directed by George Miller who has also directed the previous three Mad Max movies, and the cast includes Tom Hardy ("The Dark Knight Rises") as the new Max, Nicholas Hoult ("X-Men: First Class"), Charlize Theron ("Monster") and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ("Transformers: Dark of the Moon").

Universal Pictures has announced the release date for the sequel to the hit home-invasion horror "The Purge". The sequel will hit theaters on June 20, 2014. The decision to make the sequel came immediately after "The Purge" grossed $34 million in its opening weekend versus a budget of $3 million. The new installment will be produced by the first film's writer/director James DeMonaco and co-producer Michael Bay. "The Purge" starred Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey, and I'm curious to see if the sequel will pick up the story with the same characters, or at least what's left of them, or if they'll go for a different set of characters for a new Purge day.

And, last but definitely not least, the third installment in the "Insidious" series also has an official release date. "Insidious: Chapter 3" will be released on April 3, 2015. The sequel's script will once again be penned by Leigh Whannell ("Saw"). Director James Wan who had great success with both films in the franchise and scored another huge hit with this year's haunted house horror "The Conjuring" has expressed his desire to try out other genres for a change. In fact, he is currently working on "Fast & Furious 7", so it's possible that he won't return to helm the new sequel.

MAD MAX 4 : FURY ROAD - Production Details and Official Synopsis

The fourth "Mad Max" film, subtitled "Fury Road", is currently in production and the company producing it, Kennedy Miller Mitchell Productions, has released an official press statement offering a wealth of details regarding the production. "Mad Max: Fury Road" is currently filming in Africa with franchise director George Miller at the helm. Tom Hardy ("Inception", "The Dark Knight Rises") stars as the mad Max and is surrounded by an ensemble cast which includes Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Here is the official press release which also includes the movie's synopsis (second and third paragraphs) :

"Principal photography began 9 July on the dystopian action adventure “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a Kennedy Miller Mitchell production written and directed by “Mad Max” creator and Academy Award(R) winner George Miller (“Happy Feet”). The film will be presented by Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. The rain turned the area into an oasis instead of the post-apocalyptic terrain that is the setting for Max’s world."

2012 Razzie Awards Nominations Announced

Finally, here's one awards group where you won't see "The Artist" nominated : The Razzies. What you will find, however, is the most horrifying list of cinematic failures, movies which insult our intelligence and test our patience. Some of these movies made a lot of money last year, some didn't, but at the Razzies, they are all equal. This year, the nominees include such IQ-melting duds as "Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star" (6 noms), "Jack & Jill" (12 noms), "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" (6 noms),  "New Year's Eve" (5 noms) and "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I" (6 noms). 2012 is definitely a year of celebration for Adam Sandler who received no less than 11 nominations and has officialy broken Eddie Murphy's record of 5 nominations, which he had earned for "Norbit" in 2007. Here are some of the other actors celebrated by the infamous Razzie group for their 2011 body of work : Nicolas Cage, Russell Brand, Taylor Lautner, Nick Swardson, Martin Lawrence, Sarah Palin (as herself), Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jesssica Parker, Kristen Stewart, Ken Jeong, The Underwear Model (aka Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) and James Franco.
