Matthew Daddario ("Shadowhunters", "Blue Bloods") is set to join the cast of the upcoming 15th season of "Chicago Fire" as a firefighter candidate. Other character details as well as the new season's synopsis are being kept under wraps for now.
The casting was revealed by fellow newcomer Da'Vinchi, who joined the cast in July as another firehouse candidate described as roguish and a little defiant. The actor shared a photo (below) from set, which features himself, Daddario, and Brandon Larracuente, who plays Vasquez.
It has also been recently announced that Dermot Mulroney, who has starred as Battalion Chief Dominic "Dom" Pascal since season 13, and original cast member Joe Minoso, who played Joe Cruz since the show started in 2012, will both be leaving the series in the upcoming 15th season.
There will also be changes behind-the-scenes, as Victor Teran takes over as showrunner and executive producer for season 15, following the departure of Andrea Newman after 14 seasons.
"Chicago Fire" follows the professional and personal lives of firefighters, rescuers and paramedics of Firehouse 51 in the Windy City. Season 14 ended with former Chief Pascal (Dermott Mulroney) returning to discuss Severide's (Taylor Kinney) professional future, only for the moment to be interrupted by an emergency call, ending the episode on a cliffhanger.
Season 15 premieres on Wednesday, October 7th at 9/8c on NBC.
The show hails from Dick Wolf's Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television. Executive producers include Wolf, Tehran, Reza Tabrizi, Matt Whitney, Anastasia Puglisi, Rebecca McGill and Peter Jankowski.
